List of Winners for Governor Elections

Following Tuesday’s general election, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has declared the winners of various gubernatorial elections.
In Homa Bay County, Gladys Wanga trounced former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero to become the first female governor in Nyanza region which has six counties.
Wanga, who has served as the county’s Woman Representative since 2017, garnered 244,559 votes ahead of Kidero who managed 154,182 votes.
Below are the results of governor elections that have been officially declared by the electoral commission.
Siaya County
James Orengo of ODM emerged the winner with 220,349 votes, beating former Raireda MP Nicholas Gumbo of UDM, who scored 147,558.
Nyandarua County
Moses Ndirangu of UDA thrashed incumbent governor Francis Kimemia (Jubilee) with 158,263 votes against 52, 187 votes.
Bungoma County
Ford-Kenya’s Ken Lusaka, who served as the county’s first governor, recaptured the seat after defeating incumbent Wycliffe Wangamati (DAP-K). Lusaka garnered 241,695.
West Pokot County
First governor Simon Kachapin (UDA) made a comeback after gaining 86,476 votes to trounce incumbent Governor John Lonyangapuo.
Busia County
ODM's Paul Otuoma was declared the winner with 164,478 votes ahead of John Sakwa of ANC who emerged second with 92,144 votes.
Migori County
ODM’s Ochilo Ayacko clinched the Migori governor seat with 175,226 votes against DAP-K’s John Pesa who came second with 126,171 votes.
Nandi County
Incumbent Stephen Kipyego Arap Sang (UDA) retained his seat after gaining 237,045 votes followed by former Cleophas Lagat (independent) with 54,375 votes.
Kisumu County
Incumbent Prof. Anyang' Nyong’o (ODM) was re-elected after garnering 319,957 ahead of former governor Jack Ranguma (NDG) with 100,600 votes.
Uasin Gishu County
UDA’s Jonathan Bii won the governor seat with 214,036, edging independent candidate Zedekiah Bundotich who garnered 127,013 votes.
