Raila: We Want to Take Kenyans to Canaan to Enjoy Life
Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Sunday made his first public appearance since he cast his vote at Old Kibra Primary School in Nairobi on Tuesday.
Odinga attended a church service at the ACK St. Francis Church in Karen in the company of his running mate Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other Azimio-allied leaders.
"We thank God for having taken us through a vigorous campaign moment. The election process was peaceful, we hope that peace will prevail even after the election. We are all part of one nation and we want Kenya to be even stronger going forward," said Odinga.
Odinga went on to quote a message on peace from St. Francis of Assisi, a renowned Italian Catholic Friar.
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, where there is hatred, let me sow love where there is injury, pardon, where there is doubt, faith....that is what St.Francis of Assisi said at that time," Raila explained.
"This is what me as a person want to see happen, that I become an instrument to bring peace, to heal to unite and keep the hope alive," he added.
He also expressed optimism ahead of the declaration of the president-elect by the election commission, likening an Azimio victory to the Israelites' biblical journey from Egypt to Canaan.
"We in the Azimio La Umoja said we want to take our people across River Jordan to Canaan, we hope we will be able to enjoy life in Canaan. Peace & prosperity can only be found in Canaan,” he said.

Maritim, what belief in God you talk about? Some Bishops who greeted Ruto died, Kiambaa church burnings, etc . Belief in God is in the heart NOT public pretence like Ruto is doing.
