JKIA Court Jails German Drug Trafficker for 20 Years, Fines Him Sh20 Million

A Nairobi court has sentenced a German national to 20 years in jail and ordered him to pay Sh20 million fine for drug trafficking.
The accused Rommenswinkel Dieter was handed the sentence by Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) law courts, according to a report issued by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on Wednesday.
The court heard that Dieter was found in possession of 2,782.3 grams of narcotic drugs valued at 8.34 million.
“Court at the JKIA has sentenced, Rommenswinkel Dieter, a German national, to 20 years imprisonment & pay Sh20M fine for trafficking 2,782.3g of narcotics worth Ksh.8.34M,” the DPP said in a statement.
