Former Kisii Governor Ongwae and Former MPs Ditch Azimio for Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza

A group of leaders from Kisii and Nyamira counties has ditched Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja coalition and joined President-elect William Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Led by former Kisii governor James Ongwae, the leaders met Ruto at his official residence in Karen on Friday where they agreed to work together.

Leaders accompanying Ongwae included former Kisii Woman Representative Janet Ong’era, former MPs Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache North), Zepedeo Opere (Bonchari), Ben Momanyi (Borabu), Manson Nyamweya (South Mugirango), Zadock Ogutu (Bomachoge Borabu), and Stephen Manoti (Bobasi).

Following his declaration as President-elect three weeks ago, Ruto launched a charm offensive aimed at wooing Azimio-allied leaders and independents to his camp, allowing him to gain control of both houses of parliament.

On Thursday, Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza clinched National Assembly and Senate speaker seats respectively despite Azimio having a legal majority in the National Assembly.

Former Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula bagged the National Assembly seat with 215 votes against Azimio’s Kenneth Marende, who managed 130 votes. Former Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi secured the Senate Speaker slot after Azimio members staged a walkout just before voting commenced.

Kenyan politicians never cease to amaze me! These political turncoats are greedy opportunists sore losers that will do anything for their selfish gains without personal integrity!!! They can sell your soul to save their ass!! Never TRUST them. Ruto should be smart enough to shut out these cancers of defectors ambao hawana maadili, confused on what they stand for! Thought Ruto was a thief, all of a sudden their asses want a share of the cake after they were kicked our by their electorates! Bure kabisa hii. Shame on YOU!!
