Deputy President Gachagua: Kenyatta University Produces the Best Wives

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has heaped praises on Kenyatta University, saying the institution produces the best wives.

Speaking at the institution’s 52nd graduation ceremony on Friday, Gachagua recalled his life as a student at the University of Nairobi together with President Ruto, saying they would frequent Kenyatta University in search of ‘fine’ girls.

“The president and I have an emotional attachment to this institution. Many years ago when we were at the University of Nairobi, there was a common agreement among all of us that if you wanted a good wife you go to KU…I don’t know whether that is still true today,” Gachagua said amidst applause.

“Back in the year 1987, I took bus number 45 to hang around here, looking around. We would go to KU and spend some time there. Tukitegea tegea na kuangaliangalia. Nikatembea Ruwenzori hall, nikaangalia nikapata msichana mzuri, nikamwongelesha vizuri na kukariria poem kidogo…hadi akaingia box.”

The deputy president said he and Ruto have an emotional attachment to Kenyatta University as it gave them their lifetime spouses.

“President Ruto also hanged around here, he struggled na si mnajua ni mtu wa mpango, Mama Rachael pia akaingia box. Today she is the first lady of the Republic of Kenya, a product of KU,” he said.

“This university gave me a great wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi. I am happy that this University gave me a great wife. I have not been disappointed in the last 33 years, not a single day has she ever run away and she doesn't have a single scratch. For me and the president, we love this institution because it gave us good things…mambo yenu iko sawa,” he added.

Both First Lady Rachael Ruto and Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi are alumni of Kenyatta University, having pursued their bachelor’s degrees at the institution.

Riggy Gesus - women can do more than cooking inside the kitchen! These “Kenyan Tammy Warnnetts” can do more than flick cookies and Hamburgers on top of Jico as you want to demean their hard work at the Universities.

I assume you are talking about the Nyeri women who beat you Nyeri guys up to a point you wet yourselves in bed. It is known that a Nyeri man can’t even satisfy a woman! Eeee Rigathi!!!

As a DP, you can surely give women more credit than assigning them the role of Kitchen wives in serving ng our Country; in a very damn traditional sense!

No wonder Ruto keep teaching you some good manners because you got none! Stop insulting educated women! Man can damn cook too!

Idiot. Did you go there to discuss women or things academic? You took the man from the village but not the village in the man.
Kubafu wewe.

The sample Gachagua is using to say that KU produces the best wives is skewed, and not representative.Infact I would argue that educated wives, from institutions of higher learning are hard to relate to due to their letting the academic success enter into their heads. If studies in USA are anything to go by,women who are successful, and educated initiate divorce 90% of the time.Dont tell me there is no correlation ...
Anyway, I hope a larger part of his speech was geared toward encouraging and giving the graduates hope for the future, and how to navigate through unemployment period.
My advise to these graduating students is," dont think about marriage till you secure your future".This rings truer for men than women.Have financial security, and the pool of "best wives" will be there for you to swim in,and fish.My two cents.

Maneno Rigathi aliyosema yanaonyesha ya kwamba viongozi wa UDA ni watu wanaostahili kuchungwa 24/7!
