Kikuyu Elders Initiate Process to Reconcile Ruto and Uhuru

Elders from the Kikuyu community have initiated a process aimed at reconciling President Ruto and his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kikuyu Council of Elders, who are leading the push for a truce between the two former allies, have proposed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as the likely person to spearhead the mediation process.
Speaking during special New Year’s prayers held at Ol' Kalou aboretum grounds, Nyandarua County, the council’s Chairperson Wachira Kiago said the reconciliation seeks to end political divisions that currently play out in the open among leaders from the Mt. Kenya region.
"It is our mandate as leaders to unite the different communities in the country. As we head to the new year, our first issue will be to unite the former president Uhuru Kenyatta and the new president William Ruto,” Kiago said.
The elders first want Gachagua to bury his differences with Kenyatta before he leads the reconciliation process.
"These are the first people who should also unite as we go ahead with other communities. The new year will be a new dawn for this country," he added.
Another Kikuyu elders’ association Kiama Ki Ama has also backed the move to reconcile Ruto, Kenyatta and Gachagua. The three leaders fell out ahead of the 2022 general election in which Kenyatta supported Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
"For the country to become one, Uhuru, Rigathi and Ruto should show us the way. We will be at the forefront of making them at peace in the next year. This is the only way that we can develop" said its chair Ndung’u Gaithuma

These are the type of side shows that we don't need. Reconcile for what? Uhuru is the former president and Ruto is the president. This is not about you guys anymore. We need to focus on pressing needs creating anxiety in the country: hospital bills that have become a new form of tax in the villages as the sick plead for help. Dead bodies detained in mortuaries all over the country because they owe money, the high cost of living- wananchi going without food while the eaters criss-cross the country via luxury cars and helicopters, beneficiaries of mali ya uma. Imagine, your leaders get paid sitting allowances to sit and do the work they are already piad for everymonth. Although we have beautiful halls and lounges in our government offices including KICC, they go for retreat to discuss issues. Reatreat is code name for happy times in-five star hotels with more allowances, courtesy of mwananchi tax payer. We don't want this kumbaya, its time to work.Bwana Ruto, you have 1,468 days left. If you let us down, we will happily throw you out along with your Righay-shit.

Real Gikuyu elders never seek political recognition. These are fake ones. No one needs fake reconciliation of any kind.
Former President, Uhuru needs to keep away from any reconciliation with the current government. The current government does not need to be distracted. It gave serious hopes to the common mwananchi. It needs to perform. Let the current government keep the mwananchi updated on its performance and achievements.

What reconciliation? These two had a working relationship.Their time together is over. They are not kids, if they want to go out and do some fishing,or lolling on the beach together, its up to them, and not for some old wazees to dictate it to them.
You cannot "force" reconciliation nor put a dateline on it.If indeed their is a rift between them, and they see it fit to narrow the rift, more power to them.
Infact how many of you who are retired still hang out with their former bosses? I would say very few. Uhuru is now busy mediating peace in hot spots on the continent.Ruto is busy finding his way as the president, since Uhuru left no manual in the State House. That said, I would be thrilled to see a picture of Ruto and Uhuru doing the tango.
