Wanja Michuki, the daughter of the late former Cabinet Minister John Michuki, has resigned from her government job
Wanja said she decided to step down as a board member of the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) for personal reasons.
“I write to inform you that I have chosen to resign from the board of directors of AFC for personal reasons, effective immediately. It was an honour to serve on the Board of directors of the corporation. Thank you for the opportunity and I wish the ministry and the corporation all the best,” she said in a letter to Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi.
Through social media, Wanja said she gave the best for the role for the time she worked as a board member and reaffirmed her commitment to serving humanity.
“I am so glad that I have done the work and continue to…My commitment to our humanity will always be,” she said.
Her resignation comes as President Ruto continues to eject his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointees from various State corporations.
She was appointed to the position in May 2022 through a gazette notice by then Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.
Wanja, a Columbia University-trained financial analyst and wealth coach, was in 2020 tapped by the London-based fair standards lobby, the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP), to lead teams in Kenya, Malawi, and Rwanda to spearhead reforms targeted at improving livelihoods for smallholder farmers and workers.

In many countries, billionaires are employers, in Kenya, billionaires get the jobs, while those more qualified and really need the jobs, remain unemployed.
Wanja you should be an entrepreneur not employed in government or private sector. Please help Kenya create more jobs for our youth.
"Her resignation comes as President Ruto continues to eject his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointees from various State corporations."
Are we to read this to mean that her immediate resignation is a coded word or better euphimism for "EJECTED".
Well regime chance usually comes with such fallouts, but lets hope that whoever replaces the"ejected" persons can deliver.Otherwise we are a country we are heading backwards.
