Government to Arrest Politicians and Police Officers Over Banditry Involvement

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has affirmed that he will not relent in the fight against banditry.
In a statement issued on Friday, CS Kindiki said they've nabbed an assistant administrative officer for involvement in banditry attacks. He conveyed that the assistant chief will on Monday be arraigned in court. Mr Kindiki added that the government has arrested 31 people linked to banditry.
"Today, the government has dismissed an assistant chief in Samburu and he will be arrested today," he said.
The CS lauded the arrests as the first step in addressing public officials' involvement in banditry in the country. He further hinted that the government will soon arrest politicians and police officers cushioning the bandits from law enforcement. Kindiki reiterated that Ruto's government will not forgive anyone caught guilty of supporting bandits and cattle rustlers.
"Anyone supporting the murder of innocent people your days are numbered, we are going to get you arrested and prosecuted whoever you are. Even if you are my friend and you are among those supporting the killings witnessed and livestock theft I will get you arrested," he warned.
The CS proclaimed the government's effort to levitate accountability and reinforce its stance in the fight against banditry. Starting next week, Kindiki's office will disclose the names of the people arrested alongside their charges and where their cases will be heard. The CS called on administration officers to express fidelity in the recovery of stolen livestock.
