Gachagua Holds Talks With Youthful Investors in Germany

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua engaged in discussions with young entrepreneurs from Germany during his visit on Friday.
Specifically, he had a meeting with Florian Kraus and Max Lenz, who are investing in the horticulture sector in Munich. The main topic of conversation was the development of a detailed plan to further invest in fruit farming and processing in Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo Counties. Gachagua emphasized that Kenya is actively seeking and strengthening partnerships in Foreign Direct Investment as a key strategy for revitalizing the economy.
He expressed gratitude for the existing fruit investment in Baringo County but emphasized the need to expand further. The administration of President William Ruto is dedicated to diversifying agro-production, particularly in the North Rift region. Gachagua also highlighted the government's efforts to create a favourable environment by addressing bureaucratic obstacles that hinder FDI. Notable attendees at the meeting included Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie and Gersthofen's Mayor, His Worship Michael Worle.
Kenya remains committed to pursuing and improving partnerships in Foreign Direct Investment as part of its long-term plan for building a robust and resilient economy. The North Rift region is experiencing a boost in agro-production, according to Gachagua.
"We appreciate the fruit investment in Baringo County already, but we want to do more. This is a matter of interest to President William Ruto's Administration in diversifying agro-production, especially in the North Rift," he said.
