Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his family are celebrating Easter Sunday in Mombasa.
Kenyatta, who left office last September after a 10-year reign, joined worshippers for a mass at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Nyali, Mombasa.
Videos shared on social media show Kenyatta and his family members seated among worshippers singing, kneeling, and praying during mass.
This is the first time the former president is being seen in public since the invasion at his family's Northlands farm in Ruiru, Kiambu County on March 27th.
During the incident, hundreds of intruders invaded the land where they cut down trees using power saws and made away an unknown number of livestock.
Brookside Dairy and Peponi School are situated inside the vast property that stretches for acres.
The 11,000-acre land is part ambitious project to build Northlands City, a Sh500 billion dream city that will host a population of over 250,000 people once completed.
The Kenyatta family is undertaking the multi-billion-shilling project through their company Brookside Holdings Ltd.
The master plan for the project indicates that 3,750 acres are set aside for housing, 695 acres for an industrial park, 390 acres for a business district, and 1,697 acres for open recreational space.
The remaining 5,156 acres are set aside for wildlife conservation and agricultural purposes
