IEBC Doesn't Need to Consult You, President Uhuru Tells Raila

President Uhuru Kenyatta has hit out at the opposition National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga over his demands to have the 17th October fresh presidential election date changed.

The Head of State said that it was presumptuous of Raila Odinga to think that he can direct the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on when to hold the election.

“There is no legal requirement that Raila be consulted. I was neither consulted, Kenya doesn’t belong to one man,” said the President.

On Tuesday, the former Prime Minister said he was consulted by the electoral commission while deciding the election date, saying that Nasa will not accept the date.

Raila also claimed that President Uhuru's party was the one who set the October 17th date and not IEBC, and therefore would not accept it.

Raila and his team proposed that the fresh poll be conducted on 24th October or 31st October instead.

Addressing Western Kenya leaders in a meeting at the State House on Tuesday in Nairobi, President Uhuru also sought to mollify the Kisii community, after some of its leaders took issue with his attacks on Chief Justice David Maraga following the nullification of his victory.

Uhuru accused the opposition of trying to exploit the situation in their campaigns in the region on Tuesday.

We have no problem with the people of Kisii and Nyamira. We disagree with the ruling of the court, not the community,” said President Uhuru.

On Monday, the Nyamira county leaders demanded an apology from President Kenyatta for his name-calling of Maraga, who hails grom the region.

Uhuru! Wish you would stop justifying foolishness with answers! Get down to business and campaign. You will never satisfy this man's endless list of complaints. You OWE us and your family the will to stand tall and fight like a dume... and the only fight I advocate for is going down to the level of those who voted you in and assure them it is not lost. Campaign, campaign and campaign! Now,stop these press conferences, take a last swig of whatever takes your fancy and come back recharged to carry on your father's legacy. Dume wawili wakipigana, nyasi ndizo uumia. Nyasi ni sisi, wanainchi.....

@ Sukari, no one has ever tested Uhuru's character! His ability to handle stress, conflict and " accept and move on" the supreme court ruling has been disastrous! Self entitlement, arrogance, anger, threats, frustration and childish way of coping is nor palpable! He is not above the Law. The Kenyatta's are who they are from the grand theft and corruption from father. The genesis of corruption and impunity in Kenya started from the rule of his father, passed on to Moi, and now uhururuto and Co. Kenyans are blinded even when the facts are on the table. tribalism is alive and thriving in Kenya.

Uhuru: Don't be rude. That's why people sacrificed their lives for the second liberation of Kenya. We don't want to be reminded of your father's arrogance including his project Toroitich!

You are in no position to challenge any of our famous liberators of Kenya. That includes Raila. You were busy singing " Tawala Kenya tawala with your buddy Ruto. Please, respect our heroes. Had it not been for them, Toroitich like Mugabe and Museveni would still be in our state house as the president of Kenya!

@Formelyguest2

Correction: I feel so offended with your sarcastic remark directed to me without knowing that my own mother's blood was shed during the first liberation of Kenya. I am bitter to see people who were home guards and collaborators with the British (Mahihu and Michuki and many more others) who were the first people to reap where they did not plant. Same thing applies to Ruto and Uhuru. when our heroes of the second liberation were being tortured in Nyayo House and many were killed, Uhuru and Ruto were busy singing "Tawala Kenya tawala." Uhuru and Ruto are in no position to lecture about sacrifices made by patriotic Kenyans. Both are selfish and arrogant opportunists.

Honestly, we should have elected the true heroes of our second liberation as the leaders of Kenya. Let us remember and honor our true heroes of our second liberation people like Matiba, Rubia, Anyona, Kiraitu Murungi,Koigi, and many more others who worked hard to get rid of dictator and murderer Toroitich and Biwott.

You are wrong again. You can win a independence through shedding your blood, or you can outsmart your colonizer by using your brain. The latter is better.

All gloves are off and grow some pair . The world ain't fair, ask the Kenyan electorate why they vote that way and your opportunists remarks will be debunked , it is because of fighting for our freedom that they do not want someone take it for granted and open Kenya up for grabs by the same wakoloni aka your Raila - and that is a statement from my grandma who was raped by wakoloni and so it is not just you with history of suffering from ukoloni

Formelyguest2, I second your opinions. Our history is painful and Kenyatta was undoutedly a hero and one of the reasons Kenya is free. @GG, first and foremost, Uhuru is human just like the rest, so of course he will react as the results were unexpected. I don't know what his advisors are doing, but I suppose he feels a great injustice, hence reaction. I am not afraid to say it loud that I support him because I know my family can sleep well when he is in. Odinga is an evil I dare not dream of..... look what is already happening in Kenya. It saddened me today to hear a work colleague state they concealed their holiday to avoid going through Kenya. In their minds, Kenya is very "unstable". That is revenue lost to the Kenyans.

Uhuru Kenyatta stop your false sense of entitlement. For the race to be fair all parties that is Nasa and Jubliee need to agree on a suitable date. Talking down to Raila is not only making your look bad but we need to thank Maraga for letting the real Uhuru come out. How about Raila fixing you after he becomes president. You were busy at Tsavo while the rest of Kenyans were following court proceedings because you were so sure you would win. Please retire your family has stolen enough from Kenyans

Formerlyguest2, you struck a nerve by narrating your grandmother's experience. Seems the colonials hit some areas (tribes) harder. My Granddad was undoubtedly mixed race, but his mum and dad were apparently very dark. Growing up, I was intrigued by this but nothing was ever declared openly by my elders. I would be shooed away if I dared ask why we were lighter than some of our cousins. Secretly though, as I grew up and understood the wider picture, I always suspected their was a bit of flavour added by force along the blood line......

I would encourage you to read two books; British Gulag in Kenya, and the history of the hanged, and also another fictional literature - Uhuru. When you do , people like Imara cannot come here and think others sacrificed more than others .
