Hillary Clinton Speaks About Nullification of President Uhuru's Victory By the Supreme Court

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has praised the Kenya Supreme Court decision to annul the August 8th presidential election, saying that the verdict should give direction on how the US should handle its elections in the future.

On September 1st, the Kenya apex court overturned the result of last month's presidential election over irregularities and illegalities ordering a repeat poll within 60 days.

It was a historic ruling, being the first in the Africa continent.

Opposition National Super Alliance candidate Raila Odinga lodged the petition challenging the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta saying it was fraudulent, something that the highest court in the land upheld.

Speaking to NPR media, the former Democratic Presidential candidate Clinton the US elections to that of Kenya saying they have no provision of repeating an election.

"What happened in Kenya, which I'm only beginning to delve into, is that the Supreme Court there said there are so many really unanswered and problematic questions, we're going to throw the election out and redo it," she said.

"We have no such provision in our country. And usually we don't need it."

Clinton said that articles should be written on the Kenyan elections saying it was interesting decision by the courts.

"You know, the Kenya election was just overturned and really what's interesting about that - and I hope somebody writes about it, Terry - the Kenyan election was also a project of Cambridge Analytica," she said.

The Cambridge Analytica is a data firm owned by the Mercer family that was instrumental in the Brexit vote. Clinton said there is a probe going on in the UK because of the use of data and the weaponization of information.

"They were involved in the Trump campaign after he got the nomination," she said.

Electoral Commission IEBC, had declared President Uhuru the winner of August 8 election by 1.4 million votes but the Opposition said they won the election with 1.6 million votes.

Mrs. Clinton, as much as I admire her must focus on US elections and stay away from commenting on the Kenya issue unless she has credible information to support her position. Two of the judges, Mwilu and Lenola are reported to have been compromised into making decision favorable to NASA. So, the judges committed irregularities and illegalities in their decisions and as a result, petitions have been filed to deal with them. How then, as Clinton do you come out and comment blindly.

@shokora can you please expound on how the two judges were compromised. At this time you do realize that Kenyans are becoming grown ups in matters pertaining to politics and economics. Peopl are tired of hearsey. Just the facts, yes, just the facts. Stay away from kupayukapayuka.

Sokoro, what you are referring to is allegation (probably even an emotional wild allegation), it has not been proven and anyway it will be either proved or disapproved by the same courts which we seem to condemn.

Secondly jurisprudence is universal, in submissions and arguments lawyers, judges the world refer to jurisprudence without boundaries.

Thirdly, you can put Clinton with the international election observers who were not Kenyan but had accreditation to comment on Kenya elections

Fourth Kenya does not exist in a vacuum, a lot of our practices are adopted from others.

Fifth, Let us pray that you are not simply making such a comment for the sake of your preffered candidate but for the common good.

Maraga: Thank you for making a positive global impact on your bold decision against election fraud. After all, you are not a " mkora" but a " shujaa - hero."

Mbuya muno mugaaka. Asante sana bwana.

Hilary I voted for you. After this your comment, if US elections were to be done again today, I would vote for Trump. Know the Kenyan politics before making such comments.

What I garner from this article is that on this issue we need to copy the USA.we need to remove the provision in the constitution that allows judges to annul the clear will of the people. This outright theft of the election by supreme court judges should not be allowed to happen again. This provision is too great a risk to the peace and stability of the country. No wonder the Usa does not have it.We need strict fidelity to the will of the people in Kenya esp by the supreme court judges.i congratulate the jubilee party for providing leadership, peace and stability to all Kenyans even during this period.Uhuruto Tanotena

I am a Clinton Supporter myself. But on this issue I say that she is wrong.Once someone comes to the understanding that this was a free and fair election. The will of the People was clear(1.4M votes). The most free and fair election Kenya has ever had. Then once one realizes that the supreme court judges are really carrying the dirty water for the opposition demagogue in Kenyan Politics then I do not see how one gets to respect this decision.Elections are a very delicate issue in Kenyan History. We cannot afford having the supreme court judges play legal shenanigan games with the results of the election. We need the supreme court justices to affirm the will of the people, not annul it.The cost to the country to do the rerun is very high.We have an opposition demagague who keeps making impossible demands, for example that there will be no elections on OCT 17th unless his impossible demands are met, simply because he doesn't really care for the peace and stability of the country. The good news however is that More and More the Jubilee Party is providing the leadership/Peace and Stability in the country. And as a result more and more Kenyans are going to continue be attracted to the Jubilee Party. That is why the results of the rerun are going to be an even bigger margin of victory for the Jubilee Party. The Kenyan People are going to continue to ensure that the Jubilee Party is in control of both the presidency and both houses of parliament.

Hilary didn't praise Kenya's Supreme court. She laughed at it and by her words she said its interesting... That means it makes no sense. America doesn't need an election repeat clause..... BREXIT used the same concept and never cancelled the results so what is so special about Kenya? Wisdom without understanding where 4 judges placed Kenya on a near Constitutional Crisis.

I would also disagree with Clinton.. I would have wanted to see maraga come out of the shadows and address this today soon as it leaked out. His ruling has now become value less k owing we can't trust the two justices. I can bet that maraga is involved as well. This is not justice and raila ok the had keeps trying to impede the elections . I realized he doesn't campaign all he does is complain in efforts for mkate nusu.: I pray that uhuru may be sworn in and let the country move on.. maraga if you want to be credible please learn from you mistakes you had your two minutes of fame but fix it otherwise you have killed Kenyan courts. We should abolish this Supreme Court ruling in presidential elections

I listened to Hilarly's interview and there is no where she praised the ruling. She actualy said it's an interesting and not available in the US laws. Reason being it is an unlawful ruling, to throw out the will of the people. But can the illiterate Maraga see that ?

Party (not verified)     Mon, 09/25/2017 @ 01:51am

The fact remains, the supreme court ruling was divinely and will remain in the history of Africa.Hongera Maraga!!We are set for full and proper voting on 26th of Oct.Let's remain united as Kenyans.
