Africa's Highest and Lowest Paid Presidents

Tanzanian President John Magufuli recently revealed he takes home a monthly salary Sh400,000 a month, making him one of the lowest paid head of state in Africa, but how small is his earning compared to his fellow Presidents in the continent?

Magufuli's pay is less than an eighth of that of the Cameroonian President, who is possibly the highest paid head of state in Africa.

President Uhuru Kenyatta earns Sh1.4 million a month, meaning that Magufuli takes home only a quarter of what Uhuru's earn and way less than deputy President William Ruto's, who takes home about Sh1 million per month.

Top on the list of high earners is Cameroonian president Paul Biya with a monthly pay of Sh5.3 million, who has held power for more than three decades.

Morocco’s King Mohammed and South Africa’s Jacob Zuma come second with a monthly pay of about Sh2 million each.

Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni takes home Sh1.5 million, the highest by an East Africa President (followed closely by Uhuru Kenyatta). Paul Kagame of Rwanda comes third taking home about Sh700,000.

Research by the Business Daily has showed that only nine African Presidents earn over Sh1 million a month.

Sierra Leone’s Ernest Koroma (Sh103,300), Guinea's, Cape Verde, Tunisia and Senegal Heads of states each pocket less than Sh200,000 per month.

The US President (of 50 States) Earns $400,000.00x100= KShs.40,000,000.00 a year. If you divide the KShs.40,000,000.00/12=KShs.3,333,333.33 per Month. Then divide the KShs.3,333,333.33 per Month/50 States of the US = KShs.66,666.67 per Month/per State VERSUS Kenya's President's Salary of KShs.1,400,000.00 a Month per State/Kenya. Now: 1,400,000.00 (Kenya's President Salary)÷ 66,666.67 (US President's per State/"Country"): Meaning that the President of Kenya's Salary is 21 Times the US President's Salary per Month/ per State/"Country". I could be wrong; but Wow!!!

ChezaNgoma, Guest 1 is right. If you want counties by counties the you take the 3,077 counties USA has compared to 47 in Kenya. It is not easy to measure any president's salary. What metric measurement would you go by?Number of jobs created? economic growth? hospitals built...etc.If it were a CEO in a company that would be easy, because you hire the best, and gauge their performance.YOu cannot say same of a president. I guess if relected, that says the perfomance was good int he first term.
To me the president should be paid what he is forgoing when he becomes a president.Remember, there are many benefits he/she enjoys such as free traveling, security,housing..etc.Therefore if he is a was a teacher like magafuli, he gets a teachers salary, and if he is a business man like Uhuru, you figure how much he is missing out in business, and give him that much.Ofcouse there would be a ceiling...
Basically what Iam saying is that apresident should be there to serve the people, and not to enrich him or herself. And if no pay, the better.I believe that Trump does not take a paycheck...
