Kenyan Student in Britain Appeals for Support to Clear £4,000 Fee Balance
A Kenyan student studying in the United Kingdom has appealed for urgent financial support after falling behind on tuition payments and facing restrictions from his university.
Hesbon Kipchirchir, an international student at a UK university, is seeking to raise £4,000 before 23 May to clear outstanding fees on his account. He said an unexpected family crisis affected his ability to meet payment deadlines, leaving his studies at risk.
The university has restricted his access to course materials and withheld his examination results until the balance is settled. Kipchirchir said the situation could seriously disrupt his academic progress if the funds are not raised in time.
“I’m an international student in the UK, and due to an unforeseen family situation beyond our control, my tuition payments fell behind,” he said in his appeal.
Kipchirchir said all contributions, regardless of amount, would go directly towards supporting his education. He also encouraged those unable to donate to share his appeal more widely in the hope of reaching supporters within the Kenyan diaspora and other communities.
“If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page — it would mean the world,” he added.
Unexpected family or financial difficulties can quickly affect their ability to continue their education. As the deadline approaches, Kipchirchir said he remains hopeful that public support will help him overcome what he described as the final obstacle in completing his studies.
