Raila Says His Daughter's Driver among Five People Shot by Police

Nasa leader Raila Odinga has accused police officers of shooting a driver attached to her daughter Winnie.
Odinga claimed that five people including Winnie's driver were shot by police on Tuesday as the opposition prepared to hold its memorial service rally at Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi.
He condemned the brutality meted on his supporters by police, terming it as unfortunate and unacceptable.
"This regime has no problems killing Kenyans. Lacking popular support, it thinks killing and the use of massive force is what will curb the massive opposition that its unlawful reign faces,” said Raila in a statement on Tuesday evening.
“Nasa flagbearer Raila Odinga this afternoon condemned the shooting by police of at least five people as the NASA motorcade was trying to barrow its way to the memorial service at Jacaranda Gardens for earlier killings. Among those shot was his daughter Winnie Odinga's driver. Jacaranda Gardens had earlier been sealed off by police to prevent the memorial service from taking place,” read a statement by Salim Lone, an adviser to Nasa leader Raila.
Raila pointed accusing fingers at president Kenyatta, saying he is to blame for the killings by police.
"Uhuru is totally out of touch with Kenyans' and my own views. Right now, his biggest concern was that dignitaries who came for the coronation not see the depth of opposition to him that the memorial service would have made obvious... We in NASA are proceeding with our People's Assembly programme which will see new elections held. Our boycott of the sham 26th October election, the programme’s first goal, was a staggering success. Such a boycott had never happened before. Kenyans will never again participate in an election that is not guaranteed to be free and fair. This unprecedented democratic determination has made our struggle for electoral justice a beacon of hope for all those on the continent who live in countries where democracy has been squashed for decades,” he added.
Addressing his supporters in a roadside rally along Manyanja Road, Eastlands on Tuesday, Raila said he will be sworn-in as President on Jamhuri Day. "I am not a coward, I will be sworn as president on Jamhuri Day, I am the legitimate president," said Raila.

Raila, do you think your daughter's driver life is more important than those that have been killed or injured through your incitements? Look yourself at the mirror. You are the cause of this deaths and injuries. You allow people like Orengo to mislead you and then you cry foul when things don't go your way. It's time you to retire from politics and enjoy the remaining days of your life enjoying. Isn't it time for you to say enough is enough and stop this killings?. Over three thousand deaths in your hand over the past ten years. Anybody rational knows that going to your meetings invites risks of death or serious injuries. I feel sorry for your daughter's driver because for him it's either he attends them or lose his job.

Raila should realize that there can only be one president at a time. If he has lost the opportunity by either losing in elections or boycott he should move on and push for economic development of his supporters instead of misusing them to further his political agenda. It would make sense if he is pushing for constitutional amendment to address what he thinks is the problem.
