Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with Dusit2 Terror Attack in Nairobi
Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the Tuesday terror attack at dusitD2 Complex along 14 Riverside Drive in Nairobi's Westlands area.
The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti says one of the suspects only identified as Kemunto has been arrested in Mucatha, Ruaka, Kiambu County.
"We have arrested two suspects. The two are principal suspects who are being interrogated over the attack," Kinoti says.
Kemunto has been apprehended at a house where one of the attackers is said to have been living for a couple of months. Kinoti says the other male suspect has been arrested in Eastleigh area in Nairobi.
The two suspects have been taken to the DCI headquarters for interrogation even as investigations into the attack continue.
In a televised address to the nation on Wednesday morning, President Kenyatta has confirmed that 14 people lost their lives during the attack. He has also confirmed that all the gunmen involved in the attack have been eliminated.
“The security operation at Dusit is over and the terrorists eliminated. As of this moment, we have confirmation that 14 innocent lives were lost through the hands of these murderous terrorists with other injured,” says Kenyatta.
Kenyatta has also assured the country that security forces will pursue all those involved in the planning, facilitating or funding the terrorists.
“We will seek out every person that was involved in the funding, planning, and execution of this heinous act. We will pursue relentlessly wherever they will be until they are held to account,” he assures.
“We are a nation that never forgets those who hurt our children. We are grieving as a country and my heart goes out to all the innocent men and women violated by the senseless violence."
Somalia-based Islamic terror organization, Al-Shabab has since claimed responsibility for the attack.

Removing KDF from Somalia will not help. This guys act no goog. They said that we will be refugees in our own country. That's why at the time they practiced Pirates were buying heaven's houses in Nairobi. There are many other countries affected too by the same stupid terrific terror and have not send their troops Somali. Further more they don't want to face the KDF, they go to where they will kill innocent foreigners who are on their business and any other person they get there. Let's mind our conversation as it is will keep brewing the anger. First of all why is dadaab refugee camp still open when the whole world has acknowledged there is peace in Somalia by opening an American Embassy there. That camp should be demolished ASAP and have KDF return to Kenya. Kenya should cut ties with Somalia. Someone please explain to me, did Kenya have business going to fight Al Shabab in Somalia in the first place?

This is a very good question. Why is the camp still on while American Embassy is open in Somali. Close down the camp, send those refugees to their safe countries and clean up our country. Shut down the Somali and Kenya boarder until we clean house. Cut off the refugee program from Somali to Kenya until we drain the swamp.

I concur, that camp is a breeding ground for these baggers! UNHCR should put tents in Somali not kenya, there is enough land . Enough is enough.
Secondly Kenyans need to be vigilant and esp in residential areas when you notice someone who does not fit and not the norm, call ,CID and have then run forensics( background checks) on them better to be wrong than sorry, I know I would . Seriously, these new gated establishments have become their haven and they have money to secure such real estates, landlords need to do background checks but then again who am I kidding when Kenyans see money , due diligence is thrown out of the window.
