Kenya Sends MPs, IEBC Team to Observe US Presidential Election

Four Kenyan MPs have been sent to the US to observe Tuesday’s presidential election pitting Republican candidate, Donald Trump and his Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden.
They include Otiende Amollo who is the MP for Rarieda, Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragwa), Abdi Shurie (Balambala), and Kisumu Senator Fred Outa.
The four MPs, who will be in the US for five days, are being accompanied by a team from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which will also be observing the hotly-contested election.
“They have been officially invited along with the IEBC to observe the US elections,” National Assembly Clerk Michael Sialai told The Star.
Nearly 100 million American voters have already cast their ballots in areas that have the provision of early voting, which is done either done by mail or in-person.
The voter turnout is expected to surpass the 138 million that voted in the 2016 election, according to various media outlets in the US.
Various pollsters showed Biden holding a commanding national lead over Trump, who is seeking to be reelected for a second term.
To be declared the winner, a presidential contender must garner at least 270 state Electoral College votes. The US presidential election is expected to close on November 4th.

I am glad they were invited, but for wananchi to benefit from this invitation, the 4 Mpigs on returning, should embark on a n"enlightment mission" to tell wananchi what they learned; compare, and contrast what we have done right,or wrong in the past.If nothing is garnered from this Trip,it will be no different from joy riding, which should not happen at mwananchi's expense.

I'm curious if they all go to one state or do they each go to states that run their elections in different ways and that are red, blue and 2 evenly split to get a better and more representative understanding of what works, what's fair or unfair or odious and what encourages engagement. That said these are Kenyan mpigs so I think this is a shopping trip with a chance for collecting per diem payments.

Waste of public resources. There is nothing new to learn from the current USA election. The Kenyan government ought to stay very far away from what is going on in the USA election. It's crazy I tell you.

Ha, ha, ha! Invited by whom? This is just to stir the pot. Since when has U.S cared what Kenya did? Unless they want to borrow the Kenyan mess model used in the last election which saw Raila claim it was rigged. I smell a rat.
