Participated in Last Year's US Green Card Lottery? Results of the DV-2022 Diversity Visa Program Are Now Available

If you participated the US Diversity Visa program DV-2022 (Green Card Lottery) last year, you can now check if you are one of the lucky winners.

Results of DV-2022 are now available online at the Electronic Diversity Visa website run by the US State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs. The results became available at the portal starting on Saturday, May 8, 2022 at 12pm EDT.

Anyone who participated in the lottery during the DV-2022 registration period which ran from October 7, 2020 and November 10, 2020 will need their confirmation number, last/family name, and year of birth to confirm if they won.

Each year, the US State Department makes available 55,000 permanent resident visas (green cards) available to citizens of countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States. The green cards are awarded through a  lottery system that takes place each year. An estimated 12 million people participated in the previous lottery conducted in 2019 (DV-2021).

Countries with more than 50,000 of their citizens migrating to the US over the previous five years are not eligible to participate in the program. For that reason, citizens of the following countries are not  eligible to participate in DV-2022: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong KongSAR), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.
Kenyan citizens, including those currently living in the US on valid non-immigrant visas, were eligible to participate in DV-2022 lottery.

The U.S. government informs participants that it does not send email or letters to notify individuals if they have won, nor odes it solicit money by mail or wire services.

The only way too check if you are one of the winners is by checking at the following website run by the State Department: https://dvprogram.state.gov.

You all winners of DV, welcome to the United States where you’ll really sweat and work for every onion, tomato, sukuma wiki and ugali! Kila kitu ni dollar. It’s hardcore life of WORKING and to many even sleepless nights. If you have young kids, well, that ups the game. Its EXPENSIVE to live here, honestly be well paychogically prepared you’ll make it as we also did make it. Wacha blanketi Kenya and be prepared for doubles if your job warrants that. Stay encouraged though!

As you immigrate to America and you have left your blanket in Kenya, please note that one Dr Sanjay Gupta says that people who work nightshifts have increased risks to heart diseases. Now, start beating doubles.
