Kenya Police Commander's Teen Son Shoots Himself Dead inside their Nairobi Home

Police are investigating the death of North Eastern Deputy Regional Police Commander Patrick King'ori Macharia’s 13-year-old son.

The teenager allegedly locked himself in his bedroom and shot himself with his father's pistol at their home in Nairobi’s Ruai estate, according to a report filed at Mawe Mbili police station.

King’ori claims he left his Jericho pistol on the couch in the sitting room to go to the washroom, but a few minutes later as he was talking to his wife, they heard a gunshot sound emanating from their son’s bedroom.

When King’ori and his wife broke into their son’s bedroom, they found he shot himself on the left side of the head with one round which exited on the right side of the head, the report adds.

The scene was processed and documented by scenes of crime personnel and the body moved to Kenyatta University mortuary pending postmortem and further investigation.

“The gun kept pending ballistic experts’ analysis with 29 rounds and one spent cartridge,” the report states.

The deceased was a student at Elite Academy - Shujaa.
