Wayde Van Niekerk of South Africa Breaks World Record in Men's 400m to Win Gold

Wayde Van Niekerk of South Africa broke the world record in men’s 400m to win gold in Rio on Sunday night.
The new time of 43:03 by Niekerk breaks the previous record of 43:18 set by Micheal Johnson of the United States in 1999.
The 24-year-old Niekerk, who is also the current 400m world champion, is trained by a 74-year-old great grandmother, Anna “Tannie Ans” Botha.
