The 12th Annual Educational Caravan Charity 7-A-Side Tournament brought together 24 teams at the Tata Soccer Stadium. A joint African diaspora side, featuring Kenyan nationals, competed alongside local and corporate squads to raise funds for Ban Khlong Somboon School.

Officials from the Kenyan Embassy in Bangkok attended the event to support the diaspora community. Speaking at the closing ceremony on behalf of Ambassador Lucy Kiruthu, Deputy Head of Mission Glenns Etyang praised the organisers for using sport to drive social cohesion and cross-cultural understanding.

"Sporting activities offer an effective platform for bringing people from different backgrounds together, creating friendships and building networks that transcend national borders," Etyang said.

He also commended Kenyans in Thailand for actively supporting community initiatives and successfully integrating into their host society. Embassy representatives helped hand out prizes during the awards ceremony, presenting trophies to the winning team and the first and second runners-up.

The annual tournament has grown into a key event that blends athletic competition with philanthropy. It continues to strengthen ties between the Kenyan diaspora, other African communities and local Thai residents.
