Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru has moved to the Court to challenged recent National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee recommendations that ordered she held responsible for the loss of over Sh719 million at the National Youth Service.
The Kirinyaga gubernatorial Jubilee candidate has sued the National Assembly, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Director of Criminal Investigations and the Attorney General and wants them blocked from further probing her.
The National Assembly on May 24 debated the report on the National Youth Service scandal recommending that Waiguru be barred from holding public office if found culpable in the loss of Sh791,385,000 at NYS and that the Director of Criminal Investigations starts fresh investigations over abuse of office.
Further, National Assemble Public Accounts Committee recommended that a lifestyle audit on Waiguru and top officials in the devolution ministry be conducted for the last five years and that the outcome be made public by December 31.
Waiguru moved to the High Court to have the Court compel EACC from conducting a thorough lifestyle audit on her and fresh investigations as well as probable prosecution.
She further seeks to have the recommendations and findings of Public Accounts Committee made against her quashed.
