NASA Supporters Warned against Entering JKIA to Receive Raila as He Returns from the US

Police have warned National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters against entering Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) when opposition leader Raila Odinga jets back to the country on Friday.

In a statement, Assistant Inspector General of Police George Kinoti cautioned the opposition supporters against the move, saying authorities will not allow it.

Kinoti argued that the country's largest airport is a protected area, where access is only open to authorized travelers and persons who have legitimate business at the facility.

"The attention of the National Police Service has been drawn to press reports to the effect that some politicians are mobilizing crowds to march to the JKIA to receive Raila Odinga on Friday 17th upon his return from an overseas trip. Anyone wishing to organise a public procession or meeting must comply with the Public Order Act (2016)," said Kinoti.

"JKIA is a protected area hence access is open to bonafide travelers and all others with legitimate business at the airport who must be subjected at all times to the standard security measures. It is therefore not advisable to mobilise huge crowds to travel to that facility as it risks jeopardising the safety of air operators, passengers and other airport users," read the statement.

Over the weekend, NASA leaders announced that they would stage a grand reception for Railaat the airport as he returns from his one week trip to the United States.

"The NRM movement and the coalition of NASA invite millions of patriots to walk to JKIA and welcome the people's president," former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna stated last week on Wednesday.

Other NASA leaders made the same remarks during a rally at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi on Sunday.

"We will walk in millions to JKIA to welcome Raila and match to Uhuru Park for a major rally," former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama said.

"Let us welcome Raila with more numbers than those who voted for Uhuru," added Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga.

Good! I hope these hooligans will listen and hear...least someone will be hurt and again you will see them PLAY for/to their international DONORS...crying crocodile tears claiming how human rights are suppressed in Kenya - LIARS!

This father of theirs should teach his followers to OBEY THE LAW, or else, they should be ready to face the long, stern arm of the law. WHY HAVE LAWS IF THEY ARE NOT FOLLOWED?
