De-Whipped Jubilee MPs Vow to Challenge Decision in Court, Impeach Duale

Four Jubilee Party Members of Parliament who were last week de-whipped from their house committees for disobeying president Kenyatta's position are planning to contest their removal in court.
Speaking on Sunday, Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter said the letters ejecting him and MPs Silas Tiren (Moiben), Kangogo Bowen (Marakwet East) and Alex Kosgey (Emgwen) from the committees will be challenged through all means including pushing for impeachment of Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale.
“We’ll go to court to stop that and then come to Parliament and impeach him (Majority Leader Aden Duale). Our prayers in court are the same prayers we’ll use to impeach him,” Keter said.
Keter was elected chairperson of the Labour and Social Welfare committee by trouncing Bura MP Ali Wario, who was President Uhuru's preferred choice. Tiren on the other hand won Agriculture committee chairman, defeating Adan Ali of Mandera East, while Bowen beat Jubilee’s choice of Sofia Abdi (Ijara) for the Environment and Natural Resources committee.
Mr Kosgey unsuccessfully run against Kieni MP Kanini Kega for the Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Committee chair. Soon after their victory, Majority Chief Whip Benjamin Washiali in a letter said the party had punished the four by removing them from the committees, effectively losing their positions.
