President Uhuru Mourns Former Nyeri Town MP PG Muriithi

Former Nyeri Town MP Peter Gichohi Muriithi is dead.
Muriithi passed away while receiving treatment at Outspan Hospital in Nyeri on Tuesday evening.
The deceased represented Nyeri Town Constituency in parliament from 2002 to 2007, having been elected on a NARK party ticket. He previously served as the Chairman of Association of Insurance Brokers of Kenya, Director of Insurance Institute of Kenya, and as a Board Trustee of the Association of Insurance Brokers of Kenya.
President Kenyatta eulogized Muriithi as a maverick politician and nationalist, who championed equity and justice for all Kenyans, adding that he leaves behind a strong legacy of development in Nyeri Town.
“It is very unfortunate that we’ve lost the Hon PG Muriithi, a charismatic and steadfast leader who always stood for equity and justice for all Kenyans,” Kenyatta said in a message of condolence to his family and friends.
“The residents of Nyeri Town will forever remember the Hon Muriithi for his strong development record especially for the many transformational projects he initiated during his tenure as the area legislator.”
