Missing IEBC Official Daniel Musyoka Yet to be Found

Missing Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official Daniel Mbolu Musyoka is yet to be found three days after his mysterious disappearance.
Musyoka, who is the Returning Officer for Embakasi East Constituency, went missing on Thursday before he declared the results of the MP and MCA elections at the East Africa School of Aviation Tallying Centre.
On Friday, IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati said the official was last seen on Thursday morning at the tallying centre where he had been escorted by his bodyguard. He is reported to have excused himself to make a phone call at around 9:45 am but did not return to his workstation.
Chebukati said efforts by the family and the electoral commission to reach Musyoka via phone have been unsuccessful and a formal missing person report was filed at Embakasi Police Station under OB number-24/11/08/2022.
On Sunday, his wife Tabitha Mbolu said the family is in agony and called on police to fast-track the search mission. They remain hopeful that Musyoka will be found safe and sound.
Tabitha said her husband joined the electoral commission 13 years ago and had previously served in Loitoktok IEBC offices before he was transferred to Embakasi East before the 2022 General elections.
Police told the family that Musyoka’s mobile phone went off an hour after his disappearance in Mihangu, Utawala Area.
