Ruto's Security Advisor Warns of Consequences if Sudan War is Not Stopped

President William Ruto's security advisor Monica Juma has cautioned that the ongoing war in Sudan could escalate and cause instability in the region if a resolution is not reached soon.

Juma warns that the conflict, which has been going on for more than 100 days, could lead to the creation of breeding grounds for terrorists. Her remarks come as one of the factions in the war accuses Nairobi of supporting their opponent, although there is no evidence to support this claim. The war is between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by Gen Mohamed Dagalo and the country's military under the command of Gen Abdel Al-Fattah.

“With its eruption in Darfur and the tensions we are seeing in other regions, including fighting in North Kordofan, in other areas such as the Blue Nile, there is a real risk of fragmentation of Sudan,” Juma said.

Meanwhile, a hacker group called Anonymous Sudan has targeted Kenyan digital infrastructure, claiming allegiance to one of the factions in the war and demanding that Kenya stop intruding in the affairs of Sudan. The group has attacked eCitizen and other crucial websites but these have since been restored.

However, the security advisor warns that if the situation is not addressed, it could escalate and lead to a crisis in the region. This could particularly affect already unstable countries like South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and Libya. Furthermore, the conflict could spill over into Kenya's troubled north, necessitating urgent action. The war has already resulted in the loss of many lives, with the United Nations reporting over 600 fatalities since April.

@Mama Akinyi, good point.First of all that title is earned you cannot just act or declare yourself a Pan Africanist. What I mean by this is that you must garner the admiration, and respect of other african leaders collectively. And the starting pont is in your own country. The squabbling with Raila earns him afew demerits.Withdrawing high profile cases of criminals is another terrible mark.
Ruto should stive to be the best president an african country has ever seem,or produced thus far.The then, only then will other african leaders elect him by as a defacto Pan Africanist leader.
To me, running quickly to stick your neck in a troubled zone,as much as it would appear well intentioned by others, it smirks in the face of the AU.
What is the purpose of AU if it cannot be on the forefront of conflicts, and other crisis on the continent?I refuse to think that their purpose is to get together periodically in Addis Abba ,and just talk, and engage in expensive parties at the end of the conference.AU should stike first in conflict areas.
In my opinion,as the name connotes UNITY,this is where the road to abroader United States of Afrinca begins.Just think about it.If AU was so effective, which country would be against United Stated of A?

If you allow warlords free reign to murder people as they wish, you are part of the problem! If Africa is incapable of taking care of its problems, talk to our capable foreign friends! They understand that when terrorists make Sudan their home, it’s not just Africa in trouble with the terrorists, but also their own backyards!

Mūka wa Kagwana should be more concerned about the threatening hunger in her place of birth,UKambani and her matrimonial/marriage home,Metumi Ndigi Maguru.I wonder why she bothers about murderous Savimbis in Sudan pretending to know nothing about Kenya’s multiplied Savimbi,Raila.

If Africa will fail to unite as one body and tackle the on growing terrorist menace will ignites more government coups and never ending insecurity within as a result of the social economy imbalances.
The AU should view terrorist groups as a new frontier ready to be exploited by the west to further divide and rule techniques as usual, thus enhancing their currency value to the continent.

How is Ruto going to stop the Sudan war while he is dangerously killing his own citizens? Ruto must clean up his actions before he can meddle in another country’s internal affairs!

Home grown terrorists are there for a reason.

Look at Luo’s. They are being terrorized by the Government of Kenya.

They need a home grown terror group or to hire mercenaries like Wagner .

Otherwise, they will all be killed in the name of “Kenya”.
