Raila, Kalonzo Differ in Public

National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka differed sharply on Saturday in public over the six piece voting pattern.

During an Iftar (fast-ending evening meal during Ramadhan) organized by Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked his ODM colleagues to stop calling for the election of their candidates in Mombasa and other areas adding that it could be a recipe of misunderstandings in the coalition.

“Don’t say ODM, ODM ODM and take everything because that will leave us with nothing,” said Musyoka.

He added, “We have Amani National Congress and other partners in NASA. Let’s stop asking voters to elect only ODM candidates,” he said.

But when Raila Odinga’s time to address those at the event reached, the former Prime Minister called on the election of ODM candidates saying that even though they were in a coalition, every candidate was drumming support for their candidature separately.

“I know Musyoka will advocate for Wiper, Mudavadi ANC, Moses Wetangula Ford-Kenya and Isaac Ruto will say let rain come from the skies (Chama Cha Mashinani's symbol is rain drops). But I say elect ODM candidates in Mombasa,” said Odinga.

Speaking during the event, Mombasa governor Hassan Joho urged Muslims to fight for their rights and against the injustices they have suffered under past and present regimes, asking them to vote for NASA in the August polls..

“I have been tortured so much by the Uhuru Kenyatta government, but every time they put me down, I rise up because I believe only in God. I don’t fear any human being because they have the same life like me from God,” he said.

Raila, Kalonzo Differ in Public - during an Iftar (fast-ending evening meal during Ramadhan) organized by Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked his ODM colleagues to stop calling for the election of their candidates in Mombasa and other areas adding that it could be a recipe of misunderstandings in the coalition.
This too was Ojinga's idea to host the Iftar. It was conceived during his tenure as Prime Minister during the nusu mkate nusu mkeka Grand Coalition government and therefore Joho and the watermelon should shut up.
