Laikipia, Isiolo Counties Poised to Get Independent Governors

Atleast two Independent candidates contesting for gubernatorial seats appear headed to defy party candidature to clinch the coveted seats.

Preliminary results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) indicate that Mohamed Abdi Kuti, an independent candidate for Isiolo governorship is ahead with 20,079 votes (41.69%) in 175 out of 195 polling stations in the county.

Incumbent governor Godana Doyo Adhi of PDR is second with 13,576 votes (28.19%), while Jubilee's Abdul Bahari Ali is a distance third with 12,181 votes (25.29%)

Elsewhere in Laikipia County, independent candidate Ndiritu Muriithi is having a slight advantage ahead of Jubilee candidate Hoshua Irungu, with all indication showing he is poised to clinch the seat.

Muriithi has 98,889 votes (50.44%) in 525 out of 531 polling stations, while Joshua Wakahora Irungu has 97,175 votes (49.56%).
