Raila: I Beat Uhuru by 1.5 Million Votes, I'll Beat Him again in Repeat Election

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga says that the Supreme Court ruling that overturned the presidential election has given Kenyans a fresh chance to remove oppressive Jubilee government.

Speaking while on a campaign trail in Nairobi County on Sunday Raila said that he won the August 8th contest, but Jubilee manipulated figures to give Uhuru a victory.

"We won, they stole, we caught them, and now we will beat them again fair and square," said Raila on Sunday.

“Had the IEBC agreed to open the servers, there would have been no need to go for a fresh poll. I would have just been declared the winner. We won! We beat him by 1.5 million votes, and we will do it again,” Mr Odinga told his supporters at Masinde Muliro Grounds in Mathare.

Odinga told Kenyans that they remain with one task- to vote out a an oppressive government and vote him in, describing himself as the only change and hope for Kenyans.

“We beat Uhuru and he knows it. We will do it again. I ask you to channel your anger to voting to the last man when a new poll is called,” said Odinga.

The former Prime Minister lashed out at President Kenyatta for recent outbursts on the Supreme Court following the annulment of his win, saying that the ruling paved way for what was Africa’s and the Commonwealth’s first such decision by a Supreme Court.

“You nagged us to go to court, we did. The court listened to us and said you stole our vote, and ordered a new election. What more do you want from us?” he asked.

Raila advised President Kenyatta to borrow a leaf from him, citing that he had disagreed with the judgment of the Supreme court in 2013, but did not resort to abusing the judges.

“Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, leave Kenyans alone. Do not abuse Justice Maraga ,” said Raila.

His running mate Kalonzo Musyoka called on National Super Alliance (Nasa) supporters to come out in large numbers and vote Raila in.

“Do not tire. We are so close. And we are saying: Never again will the people of Kenya cast a vote and then what is thrown at them are computer generated leaders,”Musyoka said.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi said that NASA will marshal all resources to win in the repeat poll.

“Jubilee’s theft of our votes was digital, but we caught them manually. Let us now turn out to vote to the last man, and show the world that no one should try to subvert our will,” said Mudavadi.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho said that they will “guard Raila’s votes” with all means available.

“I will send Babu Owino and Steve Mbogo to Kiambu to guard the votes, and then I will go to Nyeri. We will guard every vote,” said Joho.
