Raila Planning to Stage Either a Coup or Chaos, Deputy President William Ruto Claims

Deputy President William Ruto claims Opposition National Super Alliance candidate Raila Odinga is plotting to stage either a coup or chaos to disrupt the October 17th repeat presidential elections.

Ruto said that the declaration by the former Prime Minister that there will be no repeat election until major poll reforms are implemented is an indication they have 'planned for something'.

Speaking at Maji Mazuri grounds in Nairobi’s Kasarani area on Sunday, the DP insisted that the repeat poll would take place whether Raila participates or not, adding that Jubilee will not cede its stand that IEBC will conduct the poll.

“When they say there will be no election, it can only mean that there will be a coup or chaos because the only way to stop the repeat poll is to cause chaos,".

“Who are you to stop the election? People must vote next month to elect their president. I want to make it categorical that there will be an election next month,” said Ruto.

While declaring President Uhuru's victory invalid, null and void, Supreme Court ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to hold a fresh presidential election within 60 days.

“It is the will of the people that shall prevail. That is our declaration from Sagana… We do not want to interfere. We want no favours. All we want is the vote of Kenyans to decide their leader within the set time,” President Uhuru Kenyatta told leaders on Friday during a retreat in Sagana to plan for his re-election.

Ruto said that individuals who had plotted coups and election-related violence in the past are well known and warned that the government will not tolerate such plans.

“This country has history; we know people who have plotted for coup in the past. But we want to tell them that nobody is above the law, even the President,” added Ruto.

The DP said that Raila was trying to hold the country at ransom to cover for hia lack of preparedness in the repeat election.

“It is them who went to the Supreme Court but now they want to tell us that they are not ready for the election. We are not fools; you cannot tell us that you want the repeat but at the same time tell us that you don’t want some commissioners, the firm that printed ballot papers, and the one that supplied technology,” charged Ruto.

NASA has insisted that it will not only boycott the polls but will make sure the repeat process does not take place until major reforms are effected at the electoral commission.

Raila must be stopped at any cost. He want chaos which will precipitate the coup. He is a traitor and treason is a capital crime. Remember, "People have to die for Raila to be President". It's time this guy is dealt with using whichever means. Kenya cannot afford destruction due to one person. And those of you in this forum who support the actions to this devil; you are devils just like him. Just saying.

@Sokora & @Makono

The late British historian once said, "...power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Today I heard the alcoholic Uhuru lying to the ignorant people of Kenya by stating the following: " ...It is a fact that only the Kikuyu and Kalenjin fought for the independence of Kenya."

Uhuru, Embu, Ndia, Gichugu, Mbeere, Tharaka, Meru, and Kamba people are not Kikuyu or Kalenjin! Yet, these people and many more other micro-nations of Kenya participated in the first liberation of Kenya. As a matter of fact, the Kalenjin made the largest number of soldiers in the police force and the army fighting hard on the side of the British in Kenya colony to suppress the Kenyan freedom fighters.

I am concerned about the mental state of Uhuru. Why? A few days ago he compared the US Supreme Court with the decision that they made in the election of 2000, yet he claimed that it was in 2004!

To hear Uhuru make such unfair statement that it is only the Kikuyu and the Kalenjin who fought for the independence of Kenya makes me wonder whether he is mentally fit to lead the people of Kenya! Has he forgotten the role Mboya and Oginga played in the release of his father from jail? A war can be waged physically and also mentally. Oginga and Mboya used their brains instead of their blood to hasten the freedom of Kenya.

During the first campaign this year, I saw Uhuru openly and publicly drinking beer! What an example to the youth! He should appoint one of the Jubilee alliance heroes of the second liberation to run as the presidential candidate next month. The last still active former member of the second liberation in Jubilee is the Meru governor Dr. Kiraitu Murungi. Uhuru if you honor those who did not sing "...Tawala Kenya tawala" like you, please step down and vacate this seat for his excellency Kiraitu Murungi and you do what Madiba Mandela did in South Africa. He stepped down after being in office for only one term! Yet, (Mandela) unlike your father who was in jail for only 7 years, Mandela was in jail for 27 years.

Imara you sound eloquent but your content is garbage, garbage. You have got to put your good set of brain to doing something better than being divisive, perpetuating propaganda with alternative facts. Who said only a few tribes fought for independence? And then what's wrong with drinking?? Give me a break your holier than thou Imara. Your content portrays a wandering mind, all over the place. For Chrissake take a stand and be counted.

@Ndikwenda wana - "sitaki utoto." When reasoning fails, insults blow like a mighty tornado.

I believe by now, you know my stand. I have articulated it very well over and over again. I would like my beloved country to stand tall again devoid of corruption, nepotism, while every micro-nation shares the "Kenyan Pie" in a rational and fair way. If by advocating for a peaceful non-violent change in my country deserves name calling, put downs and insults, let it be. it will not change my stand that Kenya as a nation can definitely do better. Why not follow my basic mantra in life, "...Make your better best."

@Imara, please don't try to silence others this is a public forum. As long as you are writing your thoughts not based on facts but perceptions be ready to be critiqued. If you can not handle criticism go play house in the baby room, come back when you are ready to play on the big boy grounds. Until then, give your keyboard a break, I'm sure its yearning for one.Again drinking is NOT evil. Two, you know very well more than two tribes fought for independence so stop your rumor mongering everyone had their history class. Quit with your alternative facts unless NAswa has promised you a better life that you are willing to sell your soul for anything including being a worthless mole. Again, I emphasize, put your brain into a worthy cause, you are better than this.
