Mike Sonko Foots Sh270,000 Medical Bill for Raila Supporters Detained by Migori Hospital

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday footed a Sh270,000 bill for five National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters injured during anti-election protests in Migori town last week.

The five had been detained at St Joseph Ombo Mission Hospital in Migori after failing to clear the huge medical bill.

The five were admitted at the facility after sustaining serious gunshot wounds from beatings by anti-riot police officers after chaos broke out on Friday following the October 26th repeat presidential election.

However, Uriri MP Mark Nyamita and other leaders from Migori dismissed the offer by Sonko, terming it an insult to the brutality victims.

The leaders claimed that Sonko had been sent by Jubilee to bail out the five victims with blood-stained money.

“I have information that Jubilee through Nairobi Governor Sonko is dishing out money to hospitals in Nyanza where our people are recuperating from ostensibly to cater for their bills of the victims of jubilee-sanctioned police brutality,” said Nyamita.

“We are telling Sonko to keep his blood-stained money to himself. Let him use the money to pay Nairobi county employees who have gone for months without pay or better still use it to clean the city, which is choking under garbage, or he can equally use it to buy good manners.”

The five are said to have contacted Sonko after realizing the bill was accumulating the more they stayed at the hospital.

Speaking to journalists at Ombo Hospital, the victims thanked the county boss for coming to their aide. “We are grateful to Sonko for settling our bill as we can now get out and start our normal lives,” David Ouma Okong’o, one of those hospitalized, said.

@Guest1Stop scrapping away. You don't value human life. You and your friends at NRM exaggerated the number of people killed and you come up with cooked up names of the dead. Its as if you wanted more dead. If you got the dead skulls to show for it you would. Absolutely no couth.People acting like savages in the name of a party. Bure kabisa.

You are bewitched and blindfolded by your psycophancy. You can't realise that Raila drinks his own people's blood with the name of reforms. Wajinga ndio waliuagwa and wait you see many more will be killed until you people get brains. Cursed is the man who worship man.

These patients are not fools! They know where real help comes from. They know that their demagogic local leaders (who are caught flat-footed by Sonko's offer to foot the bills upon the patients' request) have no interest in their well being. The local leaders only use these youth to achieve their selfish political goals. That Sonko get's ahead of the local leaders makes them (leaders) annoyed and dismissive. That is their counter offer! Amazing!

And what has the so called NRM done for the people who were ready to die for them? Intelligent Kenyans as you call them sees things for what they are generosity to fellow Kenyans . You are like Trump always politicising every single thing. You need to chill and be a positive person , it is good for you . Whether it is govt money or not, these folks are relieved as they said and can go back to taking care of their families , if you cannot see that , then you are a useless human being.

So he settled the bill,if you don't like it, chock up coz it just shows how childish n low-minded you are. So what if his actions don't seem a front with you, shut up n let him help or do it. The local leaders should be ashamed of politicking a good deed. No wonder you fight amongst yourselves.

They know the Ojinga fellow is the true lord of poverty and that is why they did not contact him but Governor Sonko.
The lad Ojinga is broke even after conning Kenyans to give him money via Mpesa.
He is a leader of the Ojinga Demonic Movement a.k.a NASWA REJECTED MORONS and the most greedy, selfish and power hungry moron in the world today.

Guest1, if you really knew the Kenyan leaders as you claim you do, you would know that Sonko is renowned for his generosity. That's just him. Where was Odinga and his hooligans to foot these guys bill? Wacha upuzi and smell the coffee.

Sonko you seem too generous as long as the money is earned in a legit manner and you are not borrowing from Peter to pay Paul .Nairobi already has enough problems and we do not need drug cartels like those found at the coast.By the way we are still waiting for you to clean up the city and clear the traffic jams some of the things you promised to do with 90 days of you assuming office.

Leaders are made not born. You were not born in dynasty but your heart has made you a leader. They may mock your style and simplicity of your plans; but what matters is that you put plans into action and your people can feel your presence through your prompt action. You know how to navigate ambiguous and awkward situations to the amazement of your friends and foe. While other "lead us" or "deal us" are asking from the poor and demanding of them to do this and that, you are giving back-now that is the model of people's leader! Such a gesture goes a long way, unlike the selfishness of rhetoric and empty promises peddled around.

Political speakers, shame on you... look on the bright side, Mr Ouma, one of the victims is entirely grateful for the governor's intervention... when no one else even who probably even thought of doing such. The people behind the demos only rushing to media to tell them how people are suffering coz the situation was getting violent...jubilee this jubilee that doesn't help the Kenyans who were in that hospital...Sonkos actions proved more than loyalty and love for kenya and it people... and that is the main point here Ojinga did nothing...yet he knew people are suffering for his cause. Let this be a lesson to all Kenyans... and I'm not saying nasarite or jubilee folks... I mean ALL KENYANS. *when we come together great things happen *___#Willy W. Wayne

Governor Sonko has just done what anyone with humanity left in him would have done. So, this hullabaloo about the money shouldn't be a discussion matter whatsoever. I am in need of getting in touch with him. Any means of reaching him please will be highly appreciated.

NASA supporters have been indoctrinated by witchcraft or similar powers. They are ready to die for Raila like suicide bombers. That act of kindness by SONKO cannot be appreciated by NASA. Raila with all his billions will not start a single project for his poor people but they love him to death. Ask Raila to empower his people financially. Teach them about cooperatives and merry go round. Refrigerate fish and export it to other counties. Stop being lazy and Do farming. The Luo leaders must learn to invest back home.
