Tanzania has denied claims that it is detaining three individuals suspected to be officers of the Kenyan National Intelligence Service (NIS).
The were reports that three officials were arrested in Zanzibar earlier this week after arriving in the Island to trail the movements Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga, who was on a four day visit to the Island.
Tanzania Inspector-General of Police Simon Sirro denied the reports, noting that his office was not aware of such arrests.
“I’m not aware of that and what is being speculated about is not true,” he said.
The denial by Tanzania police boss comes after the government of Zanzibar denied having any knowledge of the presence of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga on the Island.
“We haven’t received any information about his presence. However, we are following up the rumours of his presence,” said Mjini Magharibi Regional Police Commander Hassan Nasir Ali on Wednesday.
“If he is here, it is fine. But what I can say is that until now we have no information that he is coming,” Minister for State in the office of the Second Vice President Mohamed Aboud told the Citizen on Wednesday.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) leader jetted to Zanzibar on Sunday and returned to the country on Wednesday evening.
Raila's advisor Salim Lone said that Raila traveled to Zanzibar after the unrest witnessed in Nairobi on Friday and Sunday last week.

You sound a USER and DUMPER for real. Where were you when Raila was AGITATING for Multipatism and Democracy in Kenya? And if you were alive, then you should have been the one to be in DETENTION for 9 yrs instead of Raila. REAPING where you did NOT Sow is your DIABOLIC.
...and the 1982 coup attempt has nothing nothing to do with his time in detention? Why aren't other political prisoners causing chaos in Kenya? Somehow, democracy has infiltrated other parts of Kenya except luo Nyanza where independent thought is not nurtured.
Raila is not the only one who fought for second liberation, many people did and other died kwani tulikuwa wapi? Quit exaggerating Railas accompliment if any that is and for the record, Kenya does not owe him anything and nobody asked him to do whatever you think he did for the country. Whatever he did was out of his own free will, or maybe he was not thrilled by family responsibilities. Again Kenya does NOT owe Raila anything.
magufuli maliza hao taka taka
There is a common theme in all these nasa driven sideshows and conspiracies- create a narrative that can evoke instability.
@ Doren, Quest1, Imara, and anonymous I am a rich man and I am very proud of it. I am not a Kikuyu or a Kalenjin but I just happen know how to play my game. I got rich during Moi's era and I have gotten richer during Uhuru's rule-big contracts and other favors. I have been observing this election and one thing I can say is that this demonstration are all about hate. I want to do my part by offering employment opportunities to Doren, Quest1, anonymous and Imara. I have gotten close to you guys through this forum and I don't want you to be killed throwing stones to Police. I know among you have talents to fish(I have a big boat in one of Kenyan lakes), or work as masonry in a beach house I am building in the Coast. This is what we call love. If can employ you and many of your fellow stone throwing beasts I can probably save some lives. It's not worthy dying over Raila or even Kenyatta. Behind the scene Kenyatta and Raila are best friends. They have been friends since childhood.
Rich doesn't equate to wealth....... what a braggadocious! That was cheap shot to Doreen, Guest1 ad Imara and I'm their worst enemy! I hope with all your riches you are happy before the worldly riches. Go help the orphans or other needy people in Kenyan society . Ati building in the coast should we be so obliged to bow unto you. Your antagonism is so stupid! Doreen , Guest1 and Imara , we may defer in politics but I know you are good peoples who do not deserve this stupid moron antagonism

Release those Kenyans you are holding. Very simple instructions to follow. If magufuli loves odinga so much he can make him prime Minister of Tanzania. We don't need him in Kenya, you can have him for life.
