Jubilee Leaders Seek to Reunite Governor Sonko and Igathe

Jubilee party leadership in Nairobi has offered to broker a truce between Governor Mike Sonko and Polycarp Igathe, who resigned as Deputy Governor on Friday citing strained relationship with his boss.

Led by Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja, the leaders said they will try to bring the two back together.

“We know there are some clauses of the Constitution that are not quite clear, we are looking at the law to ensure Nyeri and Nairobi get deputy governors. In Nairobi, we will try and broker a deal,” said Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja.

“Dear Nairobians, it is with a heavy heart that I resign my seat as elected Deputy Governor of Nairobi City County effective 1pm on 31st Jan 2018. I regret I have failed to earn the trust of the Governor to enable me to drive Admin & Management of the county,” he posted on his Twitter account.

“Without fear, favour or ill will I step down to avoid abusing or betraying my oath of office to Kenyans, Nairobians & my family. Thank you for the encouraging support given to me so far,” he added.

His resignation comes barely months after the two took Oath of Office following their election on August 8th, 2017 polls.

Speaking on Saturday, Sonko’s political advisor Onchari Oyieyo sought to downplay claims of power vacuum following Igathe's exit, noting that the governor had hired professionals capable of running affairs at county hall.

“The County is stable and there is no vacuum. The Governor is surrounded by professional men and women capable of running Nairobi,” said Onchari.

How much did Igathe expect to earn or loot to make him quit the Shell MD's job?How come Igathe always work under thugs/criminals like to Kirubi,Sonko? You must be a thug to associate with the two.The Shell job was a money minting industry where only the pump attendants earn peanuts but others from gate guards make a minimum of shs 100000 per month in looting.Igathe might have been earning more than shs 10m per month from dirty deals.

You understand you could be dead wrong with your speculations too right? Never judge a nother being without proven facts. Not all Kenyan's are corrupt hence not fair to generalize unless you have 'inside info".

Take over what?"EATING"/LOOTING?Filling the useless governor's seat can be done the same way the MP's,MCA's or Senator's seat are done. After all these posts were created so that SITHOLE/SENSELESS KENYANS pay huge salaries to a few people.

Common sense dictates that after resignation, you never want to make the mistake of accepting any offers to remain in office-unless you become the boss. The little credibility left will evaporate into thin air the first day you report back after making a retreat. If it were to materialize, it will be an abusive reunion to say the least.
To either party(Soko or I-gate) this idea of reuniting, may lead to something like in Michael Jackson's Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'; where "Its too high to get over, too low to get under, you are stuck in the middle and the pain is Thunder"
My JP is in damage control mode and not that they value any one individual as such.It makes sense to change the requisite laws to address this eventuality once for all.
