Raila Will be Sworn-in as President of the Republic of Kenya, NASA Clarifies

Raila Odinga will be sworn-in as the President of the Republic of Kenya and not the president of the people's assembly, National Super Alliance (Nasa) chief executive officer Norman Magaya has clarified.

Speaking to KTN News on Monday morning, Magaya noted that reports by the media that Odinga will take oath as people's assembly president were untrue, stating that Odinga will be sworn-in as the head of state.

"We are swearing in Raila Odinga as the President of the Republic of Kenya not as the People's President," Magaya clarified.

He further maintained that Nasa will hold the inauguration of Odinga at Uhuru Park as earlier planned, despite warning by police.

"We have no intention of changing our venue the only option is Uhuru Park...When it comes to the swearing in, we are doing everything as set out in the constitution because as I said we are swearing in the pres. of the republic of Kenya."

"The level of preparation undertaken for the swearing in may perhaps take around 500,000 police officers to clamp down on such a gathering, we expect our supporters to turn up in their numbers."

He accused police of being nonpartisan and acting against the constitution.

"If we ever relied on the benevolence of the police as a country, we would not have achieved anything democratically, nor would we have the new constitution. We have achieved progress through defiance, resistance and sustenance of a struggle."

"Under our current constitution, police are supposed to be non-partisan, apolitical, as it is now Mr. Koome is pandering on the whims of Jubilee and acting in contravention of the constitution," he added.

The battle lines are drawn. This time, you have crossed them. The Magayas and the Migunas must he arrested, and eliminated. They are enemies ofpeople. They want to plunge Kenya into chaos and this must not be allowed. Kalonzo,it's time to run.

This man thinks he is above the law; sory he thinks he is the law. However, i don't advocate for his arest. He is too old and has a running stomac problem. He cannot last a day in jail. House arest is no option either. His worshipers will spend the rest of their lives throwing stones and demonstating. So what to do? Let him be sworn in but not in public, probably at his Karen residence.

@Njai, are you out of your mind? Have this crazy clown be sworn as President of the Republic of Kenya and Head of State when we already have a President and Head of State who was sworn in on November 28, 2017?? These Nasa clowns are totally nuts and want to turn themselves into political maytrs!!! They MUST NOT be allowed to get away with this foolish arrogance to act like they are small god's above earthen rules of law. If Raila and his cohorts want to destabilize our country with yet again another attempted coup, he should face the full force and wrath of the law. I concur that house arrest and imprisonment are not solutions since such futile measures will merely embolden his goons who blindly worship him. This evil madman crazy for the presidency must be charged with treason and hanged without much ado. That's the only way Kenya, especially Luo Nyanza, will ever move forward in peace without constant tantrums of a notoriously senseless evil crazy man who thinks he is bigger than Kenya itself. To hell with him and his lieutenants the likes of Orengo, Miguna, Malaya, Ndii, Mbandi, Wanga amongst other brainwashed fools who can't survive politically on their own without clinging to Raila.

Agreed. The only way some Kenyans will learn to obey and follow the law is if it bites real hard. Let Kenyans talk about this day for the next 100 years even if it will not be the same Kenya...
