President Kenyatta Won't Retire in 2022, Jubilee Party Vice Chairman Says

Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe now says that President Kenyatta will not retire from politics once his final term as President ends in 2022.
Speaking to a local Television station on Tuesday, the ruling party's top official said the Head of State will not hang his political boots as many expect, but will actively be involved in his succession politics.
Murathe, however, declined to reveal on what capacity or position President Kenyatta will serve after the end of his term.
"For Jubilee to win in 2022, Uhuru has to be around. It is in the best interest of the party and deputy president, who will be our candidate, that they continue working as a pair," he said.
Murathe, a former Gatanga Member of Parliament and a State House insider, further exuded confidence that Jubilee party will still form the next government.
This is not the first time Murathe said President Kenyatta won't be exiting the political stage. Last month, the Jubilee official said Uhuru would remain the party leader after the end of his tenure.
“President Uhuru will still be the leader of our party even after his term ends in 2022,” Murathe stated.

Campaigning for your successor is different from 'not retiring'. What Murathe means is that, even after elections, Uhuru will be calling the shots! And Uhuru is paving way for this by first trying to dismantle the judiciary. Did you notice the petition against Maraga by some little known lawyer?
