President Uhuru, Raila to Update Kenyans on the Progress of their Unity Pact

President Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga are scheduled to issue a joint statement on the progress of the unity pact reached between them last month.

The statement will come at a time when a section of politicians allied to the opposition raised questions over the success of the unity agreement between the two after self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna was kicked out of the country for the second time about two weeks ago.

Many had thought that the truce between Odinga and Kenyatta would have saved the fiery Opposition lawyer from the jaws of the State and Immigration authorities.

On Saturday, lawyer Paul Mwangi and Ambassador Martin Kimani, who were picked to spearhead the unity initiative between the two camps said a lot of progress has been made since the MoU was signed last month.

“We have covered a lot of ground and the President and Raila will soon give a statement on the way forward. Much has been achieved,” Mwangi said, who did not reveal when the statement will be issued.

State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu said the delay by the Head of the State and Odinga in disclosing the next course of action in the unity deal was caused by the complexity of the issues being addressed by the MoU.

Esipisu said the team tasked to oversee the healing process “have complex matters to deal with and are under heavy pressure, they should be allowed time to do a good job.”

Bring it on to Kenyans open mindedly...and put technically all your cards on the table. Kenya ni yetu wote before the natural division hapo maimahiu but that will take 300years and affect Africa continent
