Raila Warns of Messy, Chaotic 2022

Opposition leader Raila Odinga says there will be dire consequences if the changes envisaged in the handshake between himself and President Kenyatta are not implemented before the next general elections.

Speaking during an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Gilgil on Tuesday, Raila said that the 2022 polls will be messy and chaotic if the reforms spelt out in the unity pact between him and the head of state are not effected.

“Without the changes we envisage in the MoU, 2022 will be messy. It will come with the same confusion, heartbreaks and possibly chaos. We are trying to forestall such eventualities,” said Odinga.

Although details of the unity agreement remain unknown, the ODM leader alluded to a referendum being among the key agendas proposed in the deal.

“Addressing some of these issues may require changes to some of our laws and even amendments to the constitution. When that time comes, we must be bold enough to pick up the challenge as a matter of duty to the nation,”the opposition leader added.

Odinga urged his party members to support the unity agreement and not to allow themselves to be distracted by those he termed as “political shylocks” who are opposed to the reforms initiative.

He further noted that the country is at a crossroads and politicians must look beyond 2022 if the country is to realise meaningful reconciliation.

“That handshake was not about 2022. It was too significant an event to be reduced to a struggle for positions, promises and ambitions of individuals,” he said.

“Kenya is at a crossroads. Elections are mini civil wars. Businesses close at election time. Citizens relocate to perceived safe areas at election time. Many of our citizens feel disenfranchised and excluded. Corruption is killing this nation. Citizens view each other with suspicion, mistrust and anger. A little misstep and we tip over the precipice,” Odinga remarked.

Evil politicians plant the evil seeds into the minds of the masses resulting in all the bad things you mention here Raila. That being so, what is your point?

Mr. Odinga,Kenya is bigger than you and the small threats you are giving for civil wars. Yes, you are promising a messy 2022. The same mess you have created every election. No individual, like yourself should be allowed to dictate for all Kenyans what should happen. You have dictated for Nyanza for fourty years and have made no achievements for them. They have followed you blindly, but the whole of Kenya cannot follow you blindly. You shamed Kenya, by your fake and shameless swearing. For God's sake you abandoned elections and could not care the cost of that to the common mwananchi. We cannot run a country by threats and tantrums. You cannot force the country to change the Constitution. The same Constitution you said "Constitution my foot". It's good you are talking of the mess you will bring just like you have done in the past, but this time around everyone will be ready for your lies, and the path you follow is known to all. A problem known is a problem solved. The only way to Kenya's Presidency is the ballot which has rejected you.

Stop that none sense Raila. The handshake you made with Uhuru had nothing to do with rest of Kenyans, you knew very well that your career and vitandawili was over, white people in UK & USA couldn't buy your rigged election story , your mock swearing and the U turn you made from the caravan enroute to canaan, you knew very well also all male entering canaan were supposed to be clean and circumsized - unfortunately non of you was . What next?? You will be DEAD before 2022 with the secret paperwork you claim to have signed with Uhuru

Raila, at your age Kenyans would expect words of wisdom. A man who has been a Prime Minister, and a Minister. What are your words to the 15, 18, 25,35,45,55,olds. You should be guiding them on what path to follow instead of giving them empty threats. Kenyans must know that one can only give what is available to them. What is available to you is threats, tantrums, and violence!!!

All this going on and Uhuru is quiet? Could it be he is thinking of how best to protect his wealth in future? Are they(with Raila) trying to promote political dynasties in Kenya? It is time to drain the big swamp in Kenya which continues to exploit the common mwananchi. To hell with the constant referendums meant to create more layers of government because some princes don't want to go home when defeated. Government wage bill has become humongous to contend with. This referendum talk has to be defeated.

Raila you will go the way of your father. Your father did nothing for The Lake Region, you have done less for it, yet you want to rule Kenya! Use your last years alive developing United Kisumu. What legacy will you leave behind?: war cries, acrimony, killings, disorienting the youth, tribalism and what have you? Your behavior this far has expunged you from the honor list of statesmanship. You have proved yourself to be a power hungry individual whose sole purpose is to take power by force. You even betrayed your royal Co principals, hanging them out to dry in shame just for you to satisfy your own ego and benefit from the stretched hand of the president. Who knows what was in that hand except for you two. Go home and keep Mama happy. You have been out of home for so long.

I bet if Raila will still be in running he will bring the same usual chaos. In fact he has started... As long as people like Raila foment political turmoil so as to benefit from it, there will be chaos in every election. This is the time to keep Kenyan politicians under the radar, from the DP to his competitors - Wetangula and company, and even this old prophet of doom preaching about violence in 2022.
