Kenya Airways has acquired the 'world's fastest and most efficient' passenger jet, Embraer E190-E2 from Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer S.A.
The latest acquisition adds to KQ's existing fleet of Embraer 190, making it the largest E190 operator in Africa. Embraer E190-E2 is an improvement of E-190 jet and was first launched during the Paris Air Show in 2013.
Speaking during the Embraer demo and static display ceremony in Nairobi on Thursday, Embraer’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing Africa and Middle East Raul Villaron said the jet is the fastest and the most efficient passenger jet in the world.
“The debut of the E190-E2 in Nairobi, is a epoch-making moment in our long term and successful relationship with Kenya Airways. It cuts fuel burn by more than 17 per cent and is the quickest passenger jet in the world today, both inside the cabin and out delivering significant cost efficiencies for airlines and an improved passenger,” he stated.
The E190 will offer state of the art in-flight entertainment technology besides the improved comfort with more shoulder room. It has a capacity of 98 to 106.
“We have had good commercial ties with Embraer, since we acquired our first Embraer E190 In 2010. We have used these planes for the past eight years to boost our fleet and have been very useful in servicing new routes and frequencies in our growing Africa network,” Kenya Airways Chief Operating Officer, Jan de Vegt said.

This could be Counduit for another Broke KQ Corruption.
I don't think so. This is how the industry works. They fly a demo in and if you like it you order it.
Brazil is making airplanes and kenya is still importing bicycles from china
Exactly. We even import sugar and maize from Brazil. Importing importing importing, that is all we do. Nothing there to be proud of at all. When we start manufacturing, then we will be on to something.
Haha... not funny....
But, buying a jet sounds so 21st Century than saying 21,000 bikes (obviously I made this up) are being imported from China. Eh?
We want a referendum for secession.Thats all we want.
We are tired.Jubilee can keep this airplane, all the money they have stolen, the 11 Envoys of doom, they can carry the SGR to their house, they can keep all all the Chinese, the World bank and IMF.
Please,we are tired and want nothing to do with central republic—Kikuyu and Kalenjin-economic saboteurs ,forest dwellers, thieves, animal abusers, poachers and landgrabbers.
You can take Raila Odinga and his whole extended family with you.
We are have nothing to talk about.

America has a very advanced transportation system for your information. Kenya is buying outdated ill equipped junk from china, go to China and see if they have anything that looks like that SGR they sold us
Who are the “we?”
We are still eating the mercury, copper and lead that Brazil dump to us in the sugar.

I Lived in Brazil for many many years, No Brazilian company not one and they have 4 major international carriers in addition to the regional ones fly Embraer’s not a single one. Not even their president flies in an Embraer plane. Their biggest single market is Kenya Airways no other airline in the world buys them in those numbers. Those who bought few either grounded them or rarely use them. My Grandfather used to say that when your Tailor does not wear the clothes he makes you better think twice why he is selling them to you.
Yule Msee might have lived in Brazil, but he clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
The Brazilian president has two Embraer 190s for short/medium haul trips.
Brazil’s 3rd largest airline, Azul has over 80 E190/195s in service, with another 30 on order.
And Kenya Airways is certainly not the biggest customer - it’s not even in the top 10!
If these planes aren’t any good, why have they been bought by Airlines like British Airways, KLM, Air France, Finair and United?
Non issue, tell me how this adds unga to my small stock
Kenya stumble to be among the best in Africa, if not that much of its income goes to waste then she could be among the best, the media is full of misinformation, trying to make people believe in lies.... OT. Jesus!!!
good news,
This is a false story the A/C is not even in KQ livery. Embrace just responded to a RAP by KQ. It's just a sales pitch
