President Kenyatta Traveled with Kalonzo to China Summit

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is reported to be part of the Kenyan delegation that traveled to China together with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Wiper party Executive Director Jared Siso confirmed to The Star that Musyoka is accompanying the President to Beijing for the  ongoing Forum on Chino-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

"I don’t think when such a thing happens it is not out of the normal. The President can wish to consult anybody and if he deems fit to have Kalonzo in his delegation why not?" Siso posed.

"I can confirm is that the Party leader is out of the country. From my end, I think I will leave it at that," he added without disclosing the role of the former Vice President in the delegation.

Kalonzo is said to have traveled with the delegation on Friday and checked into a hotel booked by Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing alongside other members of the team.

Speaking during the forum on Monday, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced $60 billion (Sh6 trillion) in financing for Africa.

"The money will be channelled to projects aligned to the Chinese Government’s Belt and Road Initiative covering telecommunication, construction of roads, bridges and seaports, energy, and human capacity development," President Uhuru said on Monday.

Kenyatta is expected to hold talks with Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit that will conclude on September 5th.

so what? a baby can steer Kenya better than these goons, SGR now is a cash cow for china while we continue to increase the debt. short sighted leadership who support projects that only benefit other countries more than they do Kenya. A revolution is due and due now, these thieves will not stop stealing just because they feel like it, Kenyans we are too scared to confront the evil but at some point mbari ya kimendero will have to be forced out. This corruption fight is a farce

The topic should be Kalonzo joined Uhuru in selling out the country to the Chinese. Who cares about Kalonzo the guy without a spine, mistreated by everyone and left for dead. Cannot stand up for what he believes is right, goes with the wave or the wind.

Maumauagain and Mugikuyu. What alternative leadership do you have for Kenya?Uhuru was elected by Kenyas as per the constitution. Was Uhuru the only African leader in China to auction Kenya to the Chinese?Last month I used the SGR to and from Mombasa and both ways it was full to capacity. Do you think that these people are fools to use the train or did you want us to remain backward and use the unreliable buses which take 10-12 hours to mombasa. You are the people who want us to remain in the dark and be referred to as third world nations. There is no development without costs.

Train good idea, cost waaayy up there, you saw how people were paid for land that already belonged to the gov. the cost of sgr was way too up there and we got diesel trains instead of electric, now they are asking for more millions to convert the train to electric. The problem with these projects the people negotiating on behalf of kenya are doing it for personal gains and not for national interest. look at kipeto wind farm and compare with solar and see how many millions could be saved. Useless government

@Wabirithi, you are thinking with your stomach. Very happy you did not have to board a bus even though SGR is a bloated project which will cost Kenyans dearly. This me, myself and I attitude is what is killing us.
