Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s Murder Trial to Commence on July 12th

The murder trial of Migori Governor Okoth Obado will kick off next week, a Nairobi court ordered on Monday.

Obado through his lawyers requested the court to postpone the matter citing COVID-19 issues but Justice Cecilia Githua rejected the application and ordered the hearing to commence on July 12th. The trial judge directed the prosecution to avail two witnesses a day.

“The number of participants will be restricted to the accused person, their lawyers, DPP team, and the victim’s family,” Justice Githua ordered.

The hearing was set to start on July 5th but the court listed it for mention instead. Justice Githua took over the case from judge Jessy Lessit following her promotion to the Court of Appeal.

Obado and his co-accused Juma Oyamo and Casper Obiero were released on bail after pleading not guilty to the murder of 26-year-old Rongo University student Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.

Sharon disappeared on September 3rd, 2018 in Migori and was found dead near Kodera Forest two days later. An autopsy revealed that she was raped, stabbed multiple times, and strangled.

Governor Obado confessed he was in a love affair with Sharon, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her murder. A DNA test confirmed Obado sired the unborn child, who was buried next to her mother.

The hearing was initially set to commence in March 2020 but was adjourned after courts scaled down operations over the COVID-10 pandemic.

These murderers and thieves are aided by court mbandia system we have in Kenya.

The judiciary supports these crooks because they know they are corrupt. The judiciary is nothing more than a drug cartel that protects its own criminals within the system. We must speak out against the judiciary because they have been in bed with the likes Obado, Ruto, etc to destroy our country!

And when any body tells the judiciary that they are made of corrupt characters like the six judges Uhuru refused to appoint, they start fighting those who want to clean the corruption up.

Look at the new CJ sing the chorus that the six rogue judges Uhuru left out must be installed. Look at prof Makau and grand mulla supporting those thieves and going to JkL to defend their fellow thieves.

Look at Grand Mulla who is now financing Ruto’s campaigns because he does not want corruption to end in Kenya.

Kenyans must stand up for their country because the judiciary is busy fighting to keep the current corrupt status quo for themselves as they destroy our country.

Let the court cases under obado get started so we can put this matter to rest! You don’t kill someone and then start calling shots from the background!

Justice delayed is justice denied. Each day this thug (Ruto's bestie) roams free brings unimaginable pain to the woman's family.

Like I said before, all he needs to do is get UNDERNEATH UHURUS DESK at the STATEHOUSE, play with UHURUS little WEEWEE and all will be fine.
Hopefully Ma'am KOOME will overhaul the JUDICIAL system and we will start seeing justice served and families getting closure on their loved ones.

Abado would not be the governor after he killed Sharon If the people of Migori can come together and force him out of office.

So I get tired of hearing Abado taking crap to delay his trial and no one in Migori say anything! Even baba man is very quiet because he is benefiting in all this crap.

@ Mohammed, you are right, the onerous is on the people who elected him.Obado would not be governor if Migori voters said NO. Even the law should be crafted to deny high ranking civil servants suspected,or charged with murder to step aside till the courts clear them. How can you effectives execute your duties when "death" is hanging over your head?
Obado himself should respect himself, have some integrity and resign,or step aside till the dust settles.
