Kileleshwa Residents Interview 11 MCA Aspirants to Determine Their Suitability

Residents of Nairobi's Kileleshwa ward on Saturday vetted 11 candidates who are eyeing the area MCA seat in the August 9th elections.
The aspirants were interviewed by residents during a one of its kind forum organized by the Kileleshwa Ward Neighborhood Association (KIWANA).
During the session, all the aspiring ward representatives were given a chance to present their CVs for an overview of their qualifications.
Residents also evaluated the aspirants’ integrity in areas such as the environment, employment, water, roads, security, and accountability.
"The forum began with the candidates presenting their qualifications, experience and vision for the ward. The 10-minute segment gave the residents the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates who they are and what they can do for the community," KIWANA said in a statement.
They were also questioned on their understanding of the national values and principles of governance as set out in Article 10 of the Constitution.
The forum held at Kileleshwa Convent Community Church also featured a Q&A session.
MCA aspirants present included Oyomo Aluoch, blogger Robert Alai, Perpetual Ibrahim, Junior Tollo, Aishan Shollei, Dan Nguhi, Cliff Otega, Patrick Muhanji, Sharon Otieno, Kevin Ochieng, and Vallery Atieno.
The association plans to hold a second forum to evaluate candidates who will clinch various party tickets during nominations.
"The forum concluded in wishing the aspirants well in the party nominations after which the next forum will be held for MCA candidates ready to go at it in the polls."
