Moses Kuria Files a Petition at Supreme Court to Block Raila’s Suit Challenging Ruto’s Victory

Chama Cha Kazi party leader Moses Kuria has filed a petition to block Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s suit seeking to nullify president-elect William Ruto’s victory in the August 9th presidential election.

In the petition filed at the Supreme Court on Monday, Kuria and his co-petitioner Geoffrey King’ang’i cite the violence witnessed at the national tallying centre in Bomas of Kenya before the declaration of the final presidential results by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati on August 15th.

Kuria claims Raila’s aides led by his chief agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory and Narok senator-elect Ledama Ole Kina were behind the violence where Chebukati and other IEBC commissioners were allegedly assaulted.

“Ledama Ole Kina who was also an accredited agent of the 1st and 2nd 10 Respondents gained access to the podium whereby he threatened and physically assaulted the Chairman and the commissioners in full glare of cameras,” reads the petition in part.

They add that Oke Kina and Kanchory were armed and ready to unleash violence at Bomas of Kenya.

“…the actions of the 1st Respondent through his agents amounted 10 to breach of national security as the same caused fear and panic not only amongst the Petitioners and all the persons present at Bomas but also amongst Kenyans across the globe who were keenly following the process on television,” the petition adds.

Kuria and King’ang’i further aver that their actions posed a threat to the lives of foreign diplomats, international and local observers, clergymen and women, the three presidential candidates and their families present at Bomas, elected leaders, IEBC officials and other Kenyans who had been accredited.

We as gema made a silly blunder now we see where we screwed up! Time to fix the mistakes. Why the hell did we vote Rao out, just because he is a luo? Really? Surely what has Ruto done for the country other than noise making? We were conned by dubious tactics and even bought but Real God is alive and well. I regret wasting my vote. Hope I get a second chance.

Filing a suit to be seen as a supporter of Ruto is a ploy for politicians whose careers are on the deathbed to remain relevant. I heard even Maina Njenga of the Mungiki gang has also filed case.
