Ruto's Big Frustration as a Section of Mt Kenya UDA Politicians Shun Onslaught Against Uhuru

A section of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politicians in retired President Uhuru Kenyatta's backyard have disregarded the constant attacks on the Jubilee leader.  

Murang'a Woman Representative Betty Maina is the latest to come in the defence of the former President, urging UDA politicians to refrain from attacking Uhuru. She shunned the attacks saying that Uhuru deserves respect for playing a crucial role in our history and society. She stated that Mr Kenyatta deserves to be treated as a Mt Kenya son, adding that it is foolish if they fight a leader from their region. 

“We cannot continue like this…He has his place in our history and society. There are those good deeds he did for us during his tenure and we must show him respect,” she said. 

A majority of Mt Kenya leaders have been sending attacks on Mr Kenyatta since the August 9, 2022, general election, which saw retired President Uhuru Kenyatta support Azimio leader Raila Odinga as his preferred successor. However, the Mt Kenya leaders defied his succession plans by dramming support for President Ruto. 

When the Kenya Kwanza regime rose to power, DP Gachagua blamed Mr Kenyatta for State capture and destroying the economy.  The euphoria of tongue-lashing Mr Kenyatta raged on with National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wa and National Assembly Budget Committee Chairman Ndindi Nyoro adding to the onslaught against Kenyatta.
