Kenyan Priest Arrested in San Antonio, Texas for Sexually Assaulting Old Parishioner

A Kenyan-born priest was on Tuesday arrested in San Antonio, Texas for sexually assaulting an elderly member of his parish.

Since 2017, this priest has served in four different Texas churches. However, a church employee and a parishioner recently accused him of committing aggravated sexual assault. To investigate these accusations, the San Antonio Archdiocese procured a private investigator. The investigation concluded that the Kenyan priest had, indeed, assaulted the parishioner on three occasions stemming from November 2022 onwards.

Whilst working at St. Rose Lima Catholic Church in Texas, a parishioner seeking religious guidance had her trust in the priest manipulated. The Kenyan man took advantage of her vulnerability and this was brought to light with the help of a private investigator whose findings were shared with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office on September 19 and led to the subsequent arrest of the priest on September 27.

Following the incident, the archdiocese has displayed swift action by suspending him and encouraging other possible victims to come forward. The Sheriff's Office has responded positively, lauding the church for its accountability and pursuit of justice. Moreover, the Sheriff underlines how the victim's background and current state had rendered her vulnerable, which the priest took advantage of.

If his guilt is established, the priest will be subjected to official excommunication from the church. After completing his prison term, he will be prohibited from officiating masses or presiding over religious ceremonies. If convicted, the accused runs the risk of being imprisoned for a 2 to 20-year period. After his stint behind bars, he can expect to be deported and will likely struggle to obtain authorization to reenter the United States.

@ Mundumugo, if it's public information accessible to any interested party, more so a reporter,I dont understand why the name was omitted. My understanding is that a good reporter should employ the 5W ,and H in reporting- Who, when, where, what, why, and how.
Well, he/she could be related to the rapist-priest- George Mbugua Njuguna. I think one of the requirement of priesthood should be castration.Eunuchs did it.How much more so to be castrate to solely serve your God.It's a small price to pay for heavenly treasures.Dont you think?

Please read Matthews 7:21-23. Also note that other than their actions, or there lack of, there is no "detectmeter" to tell us who exactly is the man or woman of God.Anybody could make that claim.Going to the seminary is no indication of piety, but a vocation.Pretty lucrative if you can successfully manipulate the vulnerable.

Places of worship are based on superstitions developed by irrational irrational men lacking "Critical Thinking Skills" during the Stone Age period. The time has come now to outlaw all of them.

Going to church is an insult to the advice given by the Son Of Mariam about prayer. This is what he taught his followers the proper way to pray:

Matthew 6:6-8

New International Version

"6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

@ Lucy
"god" is a man-made deity who differs in form and function according to the people who design him. Unfortunately, what I call the CREATOR (*not god), is neither male or female. Therefore the CREATOR cannot be assigned a gender pronoun as "he or him!"
Currently, there are about 40 distinct religions in the world. These religions design different meanings and purposes according to the cultures of origin. For example, in the Islamic religion the Son of Mariam is viewed as a prophet not a god. It is an insult to call the son of Mariam a god according to the Islamic religious philosophy.
According to the European religious thinking, the Son of Mariam has European looks! What an insult!

Religion and spirituality are two different things.
Religion is what all these churches preach. Do what we tell you to do, not what is right.
Religion is about doing like everyone else and is a group thought. Religion is about not taking responsibility about one's actions.
Why would this priest suffer, he is doing exactly what the church teaches. Steal, kill, rape and do all other things because those things are already forgiven. ( no worries; no responsibility)

Spirituality is doing the right thing even when no one is looking. It is about each individual taking responsibility for his/ her own actions. In spirituality, you " thou shall not" steal, kill or rape.
You will pay for your actions.
May the best man win:
Be religious or spiritual, take your pick!!
