Kenya Government Announces 310,000 Job Openings Abroad

The Kenyan government has announced that there are new job opportunities on the horizon for Kenyans to work abroad in four different countries.

Kenya's State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed has announced that Kenya will soon be able to send its citizens to several countries once the bilateral labour agreements are finalized. Germany will provide 250,000 job opportunities, Israel will offer 30,000 agricultural jobs (with 3,000 becoming available by March), Serbia will have 20,000 jobs in construction and services, and Russia will offer 10,000 jobs. Speaking on Tuesday, the Spokesperson highlighted President William Ruto's commitment to positioning Kenya as a competitive source of professional, skilled, and semi-skilled labour, as well as promoting it as a hub for investment, trade, and tourism.

He also pointed out that there are 2500 job opportunities for healthcare workers in Saudi Arabia. On January 2, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection stated that the Saudi government is looking for female healthcare workers to work as general nurses and healthcare assistants on a two-year contract that can be renewed. Nurses in Saudi Arabia will receive a monthly salary between Ksh.92,000 and Ksh.147,000, depending on their level of education.

Those holding a degree will receive a minimum monthly salary of 3,500.00 SAR (approximately Ksh.147,000), while diploma holders will earn at least 3,000.00 SAR (around Ksh.126,000). Certificate holders will be paid a minimum of 2,200.00 SAR (about Ksh.92,000) per month. In addition to their salary, nurses will also receive round-trip air tickets and be eligible for overtime pay under Saudi Arabia's labour laws. The Ministry has specified that applicants must be between the ages of 22 and 35.

To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a Kenyan citizen, hold a Bachelor of Science Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Nursing,
2. Be a registered and licensed member of the Nursing Council of Kenya
3. Possess a valid Police Clearance Certificate.
4. 2 years of continuous nursing work experience for nurses with a degree
5. Demonstrate proficiency in English.
6. Hold a valid Kenyan passport

Why do Kenyans call the current occupier of our State House Ruto?

To address someone using his paternal name is a leaf borrowed from our colonial master's heritage. According to our COHO (continent of human origins) traditions, he should be addressed as "Samoei" or just "the son of Ruto."

It would be natural and more appropriate to address him as "Samoei Cherop Ruto." The name "Cherop is his mother's traditional first name.

Using my approach of identifying one's mother name in identifying our former presidents and the current one, the following list shows their traditional first name, mother's traditional first names, and finally their father's first traditional name:

1. Kamau Wambui Muigai - 1963 to 1978
2. Toroitich Kabon Moi - 1978 to 2002
3. Mwai Wanjiku Kibaki - 2002 to 2013
4. Uhuru Ngina Kamau - 2013 to 2022
5. Samoei Cherop Ruto - 2022 to 2027

We should include our mother's traditional (not the slave or colonial Biblical or Quranic first name) first name in identifying ourselves because, according to the information obtained from the WHO, everyday, about 808 women in the world perish during the process of giving birth. Therefore, it is important to honor our mothers by inserting their names in our identities. Second, it is our mothers who nurtured our lives in their wombs for nine months, lastly they also contribute equal number of chromosomes 23:23 in order to make a complete human being. Unfortunately, due to man's arrogance and selfishness, almost all the cultures of the world have chosen to ignore this biological fundamental truth. I am a man and fully ashamed of this myopic and arrogant faulty thinking my gender has done to women all over the world. My passport and driving license reflect my true tripartite identity.

Mother's day is everyday of the year. Therefore, we should say "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERDAY OF THE YEAR."
