Kenyans in Europe Pledge Support for Sifuna's 2027 Presidential Bid

Kenyans living in the United Kingdom and Europe have pledged to support Senator Edwin Sifuna's presidential bid under the newly launched Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM).
The movement’s UK and Europe Secretariat announced its position on Saturday following the official launch of the party and the unveiling of its officials-designate in Nairobi.
Led by Chairman Francisco Macharia Mbugua, the diaspora group urged young people at home and abroad to register as voters and participate in political processes.
The secretariat praised Generation Z for demanding better governance and accountability, noting that young people continue to suffer from rising living costs, unemployment and limited opportunities due to the mismanagement of public resources and declining democratic freedoms.
"The future of Kenya belongs to its youth," the secretariat said in a press statement issued from London, calling on the youth to stay involved in civic affairs.
The chapter welcomed the appointment of Dr. Gilbert Shanga as Secretary for International Affairs and Dr. Eunice Juma as Secretary for Diaspora Affairs. The group stated that these roles reflect the critical contribution of diaspora remittances, investments and technical expertise to the country’s development.
The leadership noted that it will work to coordinate its regional branches while staying aligned with the national party leadership in Nairobi.
The announced official appointments remain subject to formal ratification during the movement's National Delegates Convention scheduled for November 13, 2026. The secretariat confirmed it would support the ratification process as part of its commitment to good governance under the slogan "Sisi ni Wananchi. Tuko Pamoja."
