VIDEO: How Kenyans in the US are Investing Back Home

A group of Kenyans living and working in the US has teamed up to invest in various projects back in Kenya.

JRN Investment Group was established in 2015 as a vehicle for Kenyans in the diaspora to invest back home without the fear of losing their hard-earned cash to dishonest relatives and contractors.

The group is made up of more than 300 Kenyan professionals working in different fields across the US.

Since its launch, JRN Investment has successfully completed a number of projects in the country and is currently undertaking a multi-million-shilling real estate project in the posh Kitisuru estate in Nairobi.

Dubbed Kitisuru Amani Gardens, the project comprises two and three-bedroom apartments for sale at Sh11 million and Sh13 million respectively.

Located 1.9 kilometers from the International School of Kenya, Amani Gardens is described as a “lifestyle development which combines ambiance, convenience, comfort, and luxury living.”

Some of the key features of the apartments include solar panels, spacious bedrooms, an American kitchen, and a spacious separate living room.

Amani Gardens will also have various amenities among them a clubhouse, playground, a gym, backup borehole, ample parking, backup generator, high-speed lifts, swimming pool, and CCTV surveillance.

The project is 50 percent done and is expected to be completed sometime next year, according to Harveer Singh, the CEO of Landmark Holdings Ltd—the main contractor for the project.

JRN Investment Chief Finance Officer Wilson Kimani, a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, told journalist Alex Chamwada that Phase One of the project which comprises one block is sold out.
