Authorities in Kent continue to search for 22-year-old Mary Immaculate Wambui Mureithi, who has been missing since the night of January 13, 2025.
The Kent Police Department has launched an extensive investigation following reports from her family that she left their residence in the West Hill area near 272nd Street without her keys. Attempts to contact her via phone have gone unanswered, with calls going straight to voicemail. In the weeks preceding her disappearance, Mary displayed signs of a mental health crisis, including increased aggression, difficulties with self-care, and memory issues.
Law enforcement officials who have interacted with her family confirm these observations and note that Mary had been receiving support services to address her struggles. Her family is particularly concerned about her physical well-being, given that she was undergoing medication for an illness but had not completed her treatment prior to vanishing. Mary is described as standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds.
Her clothing at the time of her disappearance is unknown. Although she does not drive, she is known to make use of public transportation and has previously attended Bible study sessions at a church located on the 21600 block of Pacific Highway South. Mary's family immigrated from Kenya, and she is known to speak with an accent.
The Kent Police Department has issued an urgent message to the public, urging anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact 911 immediately. As search efforts continue, her family remains hopeful for her safe return, with the community rallying in support of their efforts.
