CS Matiang'i Orders Deportation of Chinese National Filmed Whipping Kenyan Man

Four Chinese nationals who were arrested on Sunday after one of them was videotaped whipping a Kenyan man are set to be deported.

This comes after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i signed an order for their banishment on Thursday, hours after a Nairobi court allowed police to detain the four for 15 days pending the conclusion of investigations into the matter.

The four; Deng Hailan, Chang Yueping, Ou Qiang and Yu Ling were arrested after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) raided Chez Wou Restaurant in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

The raid came hours after a video clip showing Hailan, a chef at the restaurant, canning a Kenyan waiter went viral on social media, sparking uproar from online users. After the arrest, it was discovered that Hailan did not have a valid work permit.

Yueping and Qiang, who are both chefs at the restaurant, were holding expired visas while Yu Ling, a cashier, was holding a visitor’s visa but without a work permit, the DCI said.

They were all facing charges of assault and causing actual bodily harm. Their case was set to be mentioned on March 4th, 2020.

@Kibowen you may have a point. This Mating'i has been busy campaigning for BBI lately leaving the Chinese to cross the border bila makaratasi. I hope they don't bring in Coronavirus to Kenya because it will wipe out a sizable population.

chinese do not employ national of the countries except Kenya cause their is no one who can accept their tyranny. most chinese workers all over the world outside china work illegaly. in that way they can control them they cannot report mistreatment . Matiangi need to check each and every company in Kenya for illegal workers and interview Kenyans on mistreatment , on pay and benefits that come with it i.e do they have health insurance or pension
